We all would like to say we had 250 yards rushing and 300 passing but when you play against bama..ill take just big plays to get you there..3 long passes to chark that you couldn't lead him for the touchdown and another long potential gain to dillion...bama made 3 crucial big plays that made their difference in winning....

I've never seen a Sr Qb play this poorly...

Not the wide open multiple touchdown oppurtunities just sitting back there with time to throw in those plays..no

He needed to play better to win but he wasn't that awful last night. Made some big throws in third down that if he didn't, would have made the game ugly.

again, we need a better QB, but Etling did better than most of our recent QBs last night. If anything, I think his play last night highlighted we need more than better QB play to beat Bama.

We're tied, at worst, if he hits two very open throws. You're not going to get a ton of opportunities against Alabama, and you damn sure can't miss them.

Danny missed them. It's that simple.

look at the people that score on bama, those QBs are dual threat, you have to have more offensive threats than just a drop back QB, not sure Brennan is that guy

That narrative is false and needs to die. How many of those QBs rushed for more than 75 yards vs Bama?

They all beat Bama with their arms.

DANNY missed a few open guys Dillon and others on intermediate routes. listen to gary danielson. it was atrocious. bama gives us a way to beat them and we cannot capitalize.

watson and manzel-- just the threat makes the DBs and LBs respect the run... just like Hurts did to us last night

Do you remember Andrew Hatch? Did you watch any of JJ's senior year games?

Look, I don't like to bash guys but this is just silly. Etling played an okay game last night. The guy is limited in his skill.

Let's not forget that this was Alabama, the most talented team in the nation. They have players that will make plays. It's not like Danny was sitting in a clean pocket with 5 full seconds to setup and throw. My biggest complaint was that I thought he gave up on the play in the pocket too often. It seemed that he would fold when he noticed the blitzes even before they got there.

Don't put it all on Etling, Chark did his part too.

True Etling missed several throws...BUT...Chark misjudged long ball at 3:12 in 1st qtr...that's NOT on Etling! & the under throw dropped by Chark would have been caught by Jarvis Landry/or plenty of other WR's

KT 2 should get some blame too...got lit like a torch plenty!

I agree it wasn't all the qbs fault...our recivers don't make catchers that they should...
The problem with stling is that
He doesn't hit the receivers on stride on the long ball
He either throws the ball behind or too high to be caught
He is not mobile on the run
I'd like to see narciss play

He absolutely was.

- Gave Alabama 7 points because he can't throw a simple out route to a running back (interception)

- Missed 3 wide open receivers that would have scored 6 all 3 times

- Drastically underthrew Chark that would have likely led to points (half Chark's fault for dropping)

I love Etling's heart, but he is the SOLE reason LSU lost last night.

ETA: For reference, I'd rather see Jordan Jefferson behind center before Danny Etling...and I absolutely despise Jordan Jefferson.

The game came down to the plays that the QB's made. Etling didn't do it. Bottom line.

Chark also missed judged the deep throw at the beginning of the 3rd qtr. He slowed down then tried to turn on the jets but didn't have enough reach it. If he had continued to run he would have caught it and scored.
