This man is telling Jacques Doucet that the ticket demand is higher for the Southern game than it is for any other home game including Alabama.

He’s indicating that this is due to the matchup. Clearly leaving off the fact that it’s Brian Kelly’s first home game in Tiger Stadium. They really are pushing this false narrative that HBCU football matters. Don’t get me wrong it’s cool to see the team across town playing LSU but let’s not kid ourselves. That has little to nothing to do with the ticket demand. It’s Brian Kelly.

LSU should play southern and the other state schools more than out of state FCS and shite FBS schools.

You honestly believe this? Of course it being the LSU home opener plays a role too, but there are probably lots of people that don't go to LSU games that will be at the Southern game.

Once in a lifetime deal for southern fans
I can see them selling out upper deck
Also first home game in Kelly era

Bama game will depend on how well LSU is playing up to that point

I’ll watch the news for what goes down in the parking lots before and after the game.

I went to an LSU SU basketball game once. Let’s just say it was ‘spirited’.

Do you really think Southern fans are going to be inhospitable?
I bet they will have some really good tailgate food, can't wait

Southern blew through their allotment. It’s the first time the two teams have played each other and the tickets aren’t insanely expensive like they would be for Bama

Are you fricking serious? If this was New Mexico St. you would have to give away your tickets. SU is going to show up. Those LSU fans that would normally skip the nobody games are going to show up for the band.

I think it's the matchup more than Kelly's first game.

It's not a surprise to me that a lot of Southern fans would want to experience watching the Jags in Tiger Stadium.

It's not HBCU. No other HBCU team would get the same effect. It's the nuance of Southern playing LSU.

This really is a goodwill game for LSU

Look at the offseason, even Saban went after Jackson St and then instate HBCU teams in Bama called him out and told him he needed to schedule the instate HBCU teams

Look, the game is gonna be terrible but I think Kelly is gonna be able to empty the bench

Y’all are mostly all missing my point here.

Media has been pushing the HBCU narrative hard in the last year or two. They are pumping these schools up to be something bigger than they actually are.

Had a co-worker a few years back who was a big Southern fan and he constantly told me that LSU was scared to play Southern cause it would be humiliating to white folks if Southern were to beat us.
Well, what my friend should realize is that LSU's colors are purple, gold, white & black. If, and it probably will never happen, Southern was to ever beat LSU in football...who ever is the head coach should be run out to town. Not being a white supremacist here, only stating the obvious. Our talent level is far superior at every position.
But, hey...hope all enjoy the game!

I think you’re wrong on this one. Southern fans came in droves to play UL in Lafayette years ago. It was impressive.
