The defense needs to improve, however...

Let's give Texas some credit. They have some badasses on their offense. That was probably at least the 2nd best QB and WR group we'll see this season. Our depth at corner is also extremely young. They will only get better. Outside of Tua and Bama, I don't see any other offense on our schedule being a major threat.

Offensively, and I am elated to be saying this, I don't think there is a team on our schedule that can completely stop us. Not even Bama. I'll be shocked if we don't put up at least four TDs a game, and THAT'S on a bad day.

This is the beginning of a new golden era, baws!!! Drink up!!!

Defense played great before they got winded and cramped. I'm in Texas right now; this heat really is stifling. So I'm not concerned yet.

Three easy games coming up; all should be blowouts. If our D lets Florida put up numbers, then I'll raise an eyebrow. But until then, I still think our D will be our strength.

Flott gave up 1 pass. Age is not an excuse.

Texas went at Fulton, Harris and Kary.

2.5 and you should be able to at least slow down a big 12 team

Supposedly, TX and us have similar offenses, thus we should be used to defend such. After all, we play against it every day.
THEIR coaches adjusted better than ours at halftime.PERIOD.
30 points in a half is what our D allowed......

BTW .. BOTH teams played in the same weather.

Mullen has owned Aranda and A&M scored 74 on us.

I don’t know. Bama and Saban will have plenty of time to study film and by the time we play he and his minions will be our kryptonite and will shut it down. Book it. .

Some of y'all are a bit negative for my taste. Was it perfect? No, but we just watched our Tigers beat the #9 team on the road in front of 100,000 hungry and excited Texas fans. I'm not satisfied with everything that took place, but I'm damn sure happy about it. Plus we finally have a passing game! And a DAMN GOOD one.

This game wouldn't have been as close if our guys didn't get cramped up.

A&M scored 24 in regulation, and the refs extended the game at least three times. That game should never be used to make any accurate judgement of defense. It was a farce from A&M's last possession of regulation, to the last possession of the 7th and final overtime.

Fulton gave up a foot in height to the reciever he was covering.. At least it looked like it on tv. I would have thrown at him all night too if I were Texas.
It sucked to be Fulton but he did about as good as I could expect him to do.

I agree about the A&M game.
The 31 the Tigers gave up in the 2nd half is more frustrating. DB's seemed to panic with the ball in the air. Lack of a pass rush. Aranda needs to do better.

3rd best, after Georgia, when LSU meets them in the SEC Championship game

Yep, I agree. I've made a couple of comments about it in other threads, as well. This game was poorly managed by Aranda. Poor tackling is on the players, but it was just entirely too passive of a game plan on defense.

If the secondary is going to look dominant, you have to get pressure on the QB! When the QB has to get rid of the ball before he wants to, the completion % plummets. Simple as that.
Without pressure, Decent QB’s become good QB’s, and good QB’s have record days.

You have to pressure the QB at this level.

Fulton was fine. He just needs to relax and play the ball. If we’re at home he has at least one pick. He was there on several plays but didn’t know where the ball was. Also, those big TX WRs we’re pushing off like champs
