the pass rush is going to be nasty, that'll help.

also JJ is no longer QB, there will not be as much pressure on the D

This is the dumbest thing I've seen. Unless you meant the opposite.

Beckham will have at least 1 TD on punt return this year. FACT

He was an excellent return man, but his turnovers on defense were wayyy more valuable. I doubt we'll find a returner as good as him, mainly due to his vision, but we won't find another player as instinctive as him on defense. Maybe ever.

The Arkansas and UGA games obviously skewed some views of Mathieu's return ability. Before Arkansas he was very, very average.

it may have depth but its very inexperienced depth

Not only that, but depth only goes so far. Say we can cover this loss without much drop-off, what happens if Simon or one of the Jalens get hurt?

If only we had some fast, athletic guys on our team with good hands

I feel him blitzing off the edge will be missed over anything else, however, our team is still strong enough to finish up with a W in Miami

You can be fast and athletic and not be ready to play corner in the SEC. Not sure if I get your point.

I agree with this. His biggest thing before that was his refusal to fair catch the ball.

especially since there are so many wide open passing attacks in the SEC.

The lack of experience sucks a little, with the pass rush we have and what should be a better offense, we can get by with a young corner. Pass coverage wasn't a problem in 2010 with young guys. (

I was hoping to see TM7 return some punts for TD's this year. Oh well!

may be wrong, but I think this was directed at the return game, not DB.

He replied to my comment about cornerback depth, so I figured that's what he meant.

With Mathieu gone, Miles said Odell Beckham would handle punt returns. Tharld Simon is the other corner opposite Mathieu and redshirt freshmen Jalen Collins and Jalen Mills are listed second on the depth chart.
