This is not meant to dampen our early season success but areas where you saw we could still improve upon. So far, the results of 2-0 have been significant and awesome

Here are a couple things I saw:

- The secondary has been good, especially with Mills out, but I'm wondering who our #3, #4 guys at CB really are. So far it's been the White and Toliver II show at CB but it seems like we havent really seen Thomas, Paris or Jackson make any plays so far...and I'm not sure if they've figured out their pecking order out of those 3 yet either. Jackson has great speed but clearly is very raw as a pure cover corner. These next few games will be key in determining the pecking order at CB after White/Toliver II IMO.

- Boutte has struggled, and we absolutely made the right move to start Tehuema who looks like a veteran in his place. What a pull by us out of TX. Boutte still needs snaps over these next few games to help build depth on the OL. Starting a true freshman on the OL is a little scary, but Teuhema showed us no reason not to move forward with him.

- Who will be the LB to stand up for Debo? Debo cant play the first half now against Syracuse. Will it be Louis? Will it be Riley? Do we need to come out in 3 LB looks against Syracuse more than we have the first 2 games against MSU and Auburn? Lots of questions to be answered, and quickly at LB.

- Dupre Dupre Dupre, oh my Dupre. Gotta catch the few passes coming your way my man. He had 2 bad drops in the game yesterday. Gotta live up to that 5-star billing my man. The more we drop it, the less Les will trust to throw it down the field to you guys.

When LSU gets Mills back the secondary will be much improved. He's that Brandon Taylor type that we needed in 2011 to get all the ballhawks in the right place.

Punt/kick coverage was a little suspect yesterday. Need to tighten that up.

1. every aspect of the passing game

2. volume of our passing game to establish rhythm

3. developing pass rusher and LB depth

Brandon Harris completing his passes over 20 yards. He missed a few yesterday. His short passes seemed to be on the money though. I have faith that he'll correct it.

1. Kick coverage
2. Dropped passes
3. Development of passing game, Harris missed 2 east TD passes back to back

2 and 3 will improve with more reps.

I think the defense was fine. Only 70 yards vs AU in the first half. Except for the one busted play for 65 yards, the starters gave up jack shite.

Wtf was up with that weird kickoff in the first half?

Harris needs to protect his receivers better. He nearly killed Jeter and Dural.

Punt coverage needs work. When Keehn actually does a Wing punt, we still frick it up.

Afraid we are stuck with that issue this season...just pray we don't have any injuries!

Yep, forgot to mention that. Something we definitely need to improve on.

In both Auburn & MSU as the game wore on the defense began to get leaky. The guys are getting gassed & obviously it's a function of depth - especially on the DL (Coach O is earning his money). We desperately need serviceable backups.

The defense kind of reminds me of 2013 but in reverse. That D would start out poorly - especially passing d - then get better. This D can play for about 2 solid QTR's then slowly gets worn out. I have no doubt if Chavis was still DC, Auburn would have put up 2 more TD's in the second half....and some would be bitching about the offense

My big worry is we will be riding the running game gravy train (and rightfully so) the next few games but we need to make our passing game a credible attack to keep the good defensive teams honest. I'd like for us to work on the passing game against these weak teams early in the game when the outcome is not decided.

It's the comfort of knowing we can pass when we absolutely need to pass to win.

I think Gilmore or Herron could be pushing for starting over#91, Lacouture. I watch #91 on every play and I do not see him wreaky havoc like a DT needs to do.

LaCouture certainly isn't impressive, but he still seems like a solid anchor with good stamina.

10 tackles - all assisted

NEGATIGER!

Passing game still needs work. Receivers to me are are not yet clutch.

Offensive game plan is still too one sided and not diverse enough. Screen passes and jet sweeps are not working, either timing is off, poor blocking or something. Need to try some new wrinkles with LF out of the backfield catching the ball.

Harris over threw a lot of passes. saw that in the 4th quarter against state. Looks like the coaches know exactly what they are doing. give the ball to the best player in the country. Anyone that says we need to pass more should just not tune in this season.

That's my only concern with him so far. Hopefully just some early season jitters and things will slow down for him over the next few games. If Harris can get on target, the sky's the limit.
