I don't think the SEC "played mediocre", this is just the result of the portal era.

Teams will be up and down from year to year.

If you idiots think the program is the same and on the same trajectory as theee years ago, there is no helping you. We were on the precipice of the 90s or worse.

And they are too stupid to realize the entire landscape of college football has changed. I guarantee 90% of the people riding BK’s jock about winning etc are people that wanted Napier, or Kiffin or someone else fighting the exact same problems and prob doing a worse job of it. None of them will tell you a realistic coach’s name that LSU could pull tomorrow that would do any better and prop would be much worse.
Why are low IQ fans the loudest online?

Where’s Salviati at? Interesting how he’s nowhere to be found on this thread.

Yes because that was claim to fame year one when he beat Alabama. That was his 17th consecutive win in November. He won a couple more then lost to Aggie his first year here iirc. November is no longer his specialty.

Who did you want to hire when they hired Kelly?

Arizona St signed 28 players from the portal avg NIL $54k in 2023

In 2024 they signed 29 players avg NIL $27k

Yet they're in the playoffs
Arizona State benefitted from the Wyatt Earp Effect. (Which is appropriate as Tombstone is in Arizona.)

There are many more teams who made significant portal purchases who did not fare as well as the Sun Devils.

This. They hate BK the way liberals hate Trump. It’s derangement and I don’t understand why.

They don’t accept that BK took over a dumpster fire.

They don’t accept that BK has been a successful HC for a long time.

They don’t accept that portal/NIL have completely changed everything and LSU will no longer enjoy the recruiting advantage for in-state talent.

They also generally aren’t donating money to NIL for better players. And they can’t name any coaches that we should’ve hired instead three years ago. They take it personal that BK gets paid a lot.

How is that a relevant point, Sidewalk? Do fans research the candidates? Fans i.e. fanatics have opinions which are sometimes spot on. It is not the job of Tiger Nation to find the best coach, but it is their solemn duty to issue critiques of anything they perceive going wrong. Woodward hired him and to date he has LSU exactly where it was three years ago. Can you argue that this is a program headed in the right direction? I would love to hear it.

Otherwise, what is the good of being a fan?

Pray, what, exactly has LSU to show for that stat? Statistics are for losers.

Kelly himself said to judge him in year 3. Why are people mad when he’s judged in year 3?

Because people are using that as an excuse to ignore the first 2 years which were pretty good and bitch nonstop.

I wouldn't call unranked 8-4 aTm "pretty good"

First, BK's critics are not deranged. He had 31 years of HC experience when he came here. I guess that's part of the reason he was hired and given a 10Y contract. So he does not get the benefit of the doubt with rookie mistakes, e.g., train wreck on D in '23. How does a HC with that much experience do that? And we're "deranged" because we don't overlook it?

BK has demonstrated he does not know how to navigate an SEC schedule. He's demonstrated he doesn't know how to manage a roster in this era. His "long time" success" apparently means little now.

If I had one word to describe my fan experience at present it would be "trapped." Like him as HC or not, he's in all likelihood gonna be here at least two more years. Just seems like we're trapped.

The 90's where Gerry Dinardo had a better record than BK in '96 and tied him in '97?

Gerry took over a pretty good roster.

The two situations are not the same.

That being said, 10 wins is the floor. We should be playing for championships, not this bowl.

I’ll say about BK what I said about Orgeron when he was hired after that 6-2 interim gig, I’m supporting him as long as LSU is improving overall.

I mean, in 2017 LSU lost to Troy at home. Despite that, the team was improving. Firing Orgeron then would have meant no Burrow, no Brady, and subsequently…no 2019.

LSU right now is in much better shape roster wise, coaching staff wise than when BK took over.

Despite being in this shite bowl, I don’t see that as debatable.

Im sticking with him (for now).

shite bowl this year or not…let’s ride.
