This isn't about justifying moving Ohio State down after this weekend. It should be about moving LSU up. If we beat the number 4 team in Atlanta who statistically is equal defensively to Ohio State; it should be enough validation to move us to #1.
Ranked wins are only a part of how the rank teams. You also have to look at how each team looked in those games. Ohio State beat their ranked teams by 28 points per game. LSU was 7. Against bowl eligible teams, Ohio State beat them by 34+ ppg. LSU was 22 ppg.

Kosmo, would you agree with cfp if LSU and osu win, osu remains 1?
Very much so.

The committee's final #1 team has always mirrored BCS right?
The top 4 have always matched, not the orders.

just assumed LSU would be 1 because of the polls advantage.
I don't think the current bcs simulation uses the human polls, it's just the computer part of the calculations

No. The projection uses the AP and Coaches polls.
The BCS used Harris and Coaches, but the Harris is gone now.

If what you say about BCS being .0009 difference is true, LSU will jump OSU in final ranking
Mathematically impossible not to

The computers are ranked ordinally and your score doesn't matter. LSU would have to overtake Ohio State's spot in one of them. 4 are pretty much locked in. 1 favors LSU, and 1 is close (Wolfe).
I dont know if Georgia moves the needles enough over Wisconsin in Wolfe.
For the AP and Coaches, will voters truly change their mind in who is #1 based on this final week?
Its possible, but not a lock.

It’s more than possible, it’s probable
The committee would open itself up to too much unnecessary controversy, IMO

narrow it down to just 13 people.
do you have any examples of where they have had the wrong teams in the CFP in any of the past years? So far they have been solid IMO, and don't have any reason to think they wont be solid this time as well.

The order really matters this year because there are 3 clear great teams.
That's the difference.

the order matters and as an LSU fan of course I would like to see LSU #1` facing Utah or Oklahoma instead of Clemson but Ohio St has a fairly solid case for being #1, but we could possibly move back to #1 with a solid win vs Georgia (if our defense looks good in that game as well). Also can't blame us LSU fans for wanting LSU to be ranked #1 and making a strong argument for it.

Can't argue with that. Its rational.

but is it really? I'm sure in past years the teams and their fans were arguing about the seedings as well, just that we are in that arguement this year

The only year with more than 1 undefeated was last year and Bama kinda got screwed playing Oklahoma (one loss) over undefeated (Notre Dame) but cest la vie.
I think this is the most clear 3 team demarcation and controversial 1-2 discussion in CFP history. By far.

Ohio State would have wins over #8, #8, #10, #14 and #20.
LSU would have #4, #9, #11, and #12.
5 to 4, Ohio State
Also,
OSU = 28.25 ppg margin of victory
LSU = 7.3 ppg margin
In 8 games against bowl eligible teams...
OSU beat them by 273 points (34 ppg)
LSU beat them by 183 points (22 ppg)*
