But they also didn't play on a regular basis until 1990.

Twice in the 80's, 4 times in the 70's, once in the 60's (in a bowl game)...

ok, I'll grant you that one, but Florida has beaten Tennessee 22 of the 29 times they have played since 1990, so there is always that.

Gotcha. So the solution is for LSU to kick everyone’s arse and then it’s not a problem anymore. We’ll get right on that. But in the mean time, it would be nice to not have an extra hurdle to make the seccg or playoff.

That’s what Bama does. Doesn’t matter how you want to spin it, scheduling is not why Bama is winning titles. It’s bc they are the best team. Take your purple and gold glasses off and realize what the rest of the sports world already knows - Bama is a better team year in and year out. How can you dispute that??

They backed into the playoff last year without winning the west or the conference. They played 1-7 Vandy and 0-8 Tennessee cross division. The 2 last place teams in the conference.

Auburn had to beat Georgia cross division just to get to the championship. And were rewarded with having to play them again or miss the playoffs while bama sat home with a bye

That eye test though.....they look good beating up on the east cupcakes every year.

Tennessee will never be great.

Florida will be very good most of the time.

Move Bama to east. Missouri west.
Give bama Aubie as their west regular.
End of Tennessee conundrum.

If by some miracle Tennessee returned to relevance, we would see Alabama immediately change the league schedules to drop permanent rivalries. Of trade UT for Vandy as their permanent rival

Scheduling complaints are so lame. Teams being good goes in cycles. And I'd much rather play interesting games every year than sisters of the poor 4 times and then Vandy and Mizzou.

Just wait until 2025 when LSU has to travel to Clemson, Bama and UGA.

amen to that brother. Just stop with the permanent cross over opponent and schedule the crossover opponent on a rotating basis. Problem solved. WTF is so difficult to figure out? Sure some years will be tougher than others but it should even out for everyone of the long haul.

As far as this so called rivals, all SEC teams are each others "rivals". The whole thing of permanent opponents is based off a bogus concept. Tennessee is no more a rival of Bama than Georgia or Florida are, probably less so these days because they suck. Missouri could be a just as much a rival to LSU as Florida except they aren't very good so that makes them less a rival.

thread should end right here. Now can we get back to the real issues?

lol @ complaining about Florida, when the Florida's strength was pivotal in 2003 in justifying the loss at home. Florida has been above mediocre only one time 2012 outside of Meyer's 2006-09 run b/c 2010 they were avg.

And the 3rd Saturday in Oct is a bs smokescreen. We all know that. If the OU/Nebraska rivalry can die, Any of them can die.

The SEC schedule is on a set rotation. You get your permanent opponent and the other east team rotates. We got Mizzou last year, Georgia this year, and Vandy next year. We go to Georgia in 7 years and Georgia does not come back to Baton Rouge until 2030. LSU knows who they get from east every years going forward and it's the same for every team.

The out of conference games are up to each school to schedule with the provision at least one has to be from a power five conference.

ya'll do realize that when the permanent SEC cross divisional opponents were decided .. LSU wanted NO part of Tennessee...

Florida had yet to win it's first SEC title in football
