One could argue LSU has "backed" into national title games before so that argument is pointless to me

Yes, but we backed in as SEC champs...

Do these LSU fans that continue to complain for having to play UA really understand how stupid that they come across to those who did not have a dog in the fight?

This is the Tiger Rant ...we can post anything we want here (unlike the Bama sites after we won the Game of Century in BDS)... .if we post on the SEC Rant then you have a valid argument.......the Bama trolls that come here to read are simply validatIng the hypothesis of the OP.

They go to academy and buy a hat but don't spend a goddamn dime on tuition or help out the athletic association.

I don't know that many LSU fans because I live in NC, but I have family that went to LSU

No LSU fans I know really wanted to play Alabama a second time.

I have several freinds at church that love CFB...about 70% said it was unfair for LSU to play Alabama again.

the other 30% said Alabama was 2nd best, so the "BCS worked"

I think those 30% just fell into the ESPN talking points...

It's not a National Championship if it's an SEC W Division rematch...

I disagree with Kirk H on this one...

I did - but of course, I thought we were going to win. I should have known better. Bama always wins.

let me ask you a serious question:

Why do you think these LSU fans wanted to play Alabama again after beating Alabama already and having to play an additional game than the Tide?

Second question is this: Why did you inject money into this equation as a reason why some LSU fans would or would not want to play Alabama again...I fail to understand your reasoning other than just wanting to be boastful.

Which makes no sense to me...I don't' care if you donated a million dollars to LSU, it has no significance in wanting to give (play) Alabama a second attempt to beat LSU

Making up fake rules to get into the BCS game and then saying a team is there legitimately or illegitimately because it did or didn't satisfy the made up rule isn't a very good argument.

Why is it so hard to think that the same scenario could happen next year, with LSU benefitting? Even better would be that if there is a rematch, and LSU were to somehow lose at home to Alabama, you wouldn't have to face Alabama in Birmingham, but in Miami.

What would you say then?

Seriously..we had little to prove (notice I didnt say "win") by playing Bama again and absolutely everything to lose...if you left if up to LSU fans to pick who to play 90% would have picked OSU. Winning the Game of the Century was enough.....until it wasn't.

We got screwed out of a Crystal Trophy and I give thanks we won the SEC because winning the SEC is harder than the NC nowadays.....

You guys act like big pussies. You didn't want to play Bama again because you knew we were the best team in the country and knew you might get dominated and you did. The game wasn't even as close as the scoreboard showed. We earned our right to play in the game and I'm sorry that your team wasn't good enough to bring home the crystal football. Good luck next year.

You earned shite. We beat your arse the first time. We wouldn't have had the same F***** opportunity yall did if the rolls were reserved.

No way did I want to play them again. Bama is the second best team in the country but OSU deserved to be in the final. LSU beat Bama, won the SEC and deserved to play a champion from a different conference.

The game was decided by each team's 1st play from scrimmage: LSU w hand-off up the middle; ALA w fake hand-off up the middle and roll-out w QB passing the ball for 1st down. ALA wanted to win 10 times more than LSU. It was evident from the very first play of the game to the very last play of the game. We simply got our asses kicked every which way possible - especially coaching!

Agree 100% w/OP, and I'm a true fan with 2 degrees from the school. Game never should have been played; the players were justifiably disappointed with this raw deal. Bama had no body of work other than a win over Arkansas. We need the rule about winning your conference to get into the game. Otherwise the regular season is severely cheapened, and the importance of every regular season game is the best thing CFB has going for it, IMHO.

LSU lost because they played scared. They knew they were nothing but fortunate to win the 1st game. Bama beat themselves and Homer LSU fans convinced themselves other wise. Bama won every statistical category and broke even in turnover margin.

Thats why most Bama fans laughed at all the false bravado that was spewed on this site. Tiger fans deep down knew what was about to happen, but some convinced themselves other wise.

Bama was the more talented, experienced team.

11/5 was an upset

1/9 was a beat down.

It just seems like "wanting" to play a team vs feeling like a team lost 21-0 because they had already played someone is a really huge leap. You've accused people of not being competitive athletes who don't understand your point, which, for those of us who have been, told you that this wasn't right. You've said no LSU fans wanted to play Alabama, which, here and elsewhere, is wrong. You've made all sorts of arguments that aren't based in facts to prove your point, and then made it an argument about unfairness.

I just think that anyone who appreciates football, rather than someone who wants a notch on the bedpost, would feel like they needed to play the best team to win. It's not like you won't get the chance again. LSU is an amazing team, and it's the way of college sports. You play the hand you were dealt, and you don't complain about whether it was fair.

LSU got through a murderers' row of teams. Personally I don't think I'd want to have to play Oregon or West Virginia again either. Where does it end? Should everyone get a second chance? Bama's chance was the "playoff" Nov. 5 in Tuscaloosa. They didn't come through. A flawed system let them back in. Enjoy it Bama fans. You're champs.

OSU lost to a team that does not have one player that would start for Alabama or LSU.

Their wins were mostly overrated.
