Of course not, why else would they flock to this thread to defend the musings of fans they are" clearly" better than.

Tide don't care really as far as they concern they didn't have to work hard at all for their championship trophy. It was already given and crowned to them. When we beat them the first time everyone was saying they should get a second chance because they REALLY wanted to see Alabama win. I would say since we are now one and one, how about two out of three?

I noticed that you use terms like "yea but you" and derogatory comments about LSU.

Notice you have LSU next to your name.

Why don't you go ahead and put USC next to your name in anticipation of next years rankings.

You make no sense in your arguments and are the king of quotes.

Apparently you are the Newt Gingrich of Tigerdroppings.

Les Miles voted Alabama #2 in his poll. And if he didn't ACTUALLY do it, then someone on the LSU payroll under his command did. So go ask him about Alabama not deserving to be there, before you rant about it.

To millions, the 2012 NC will always carry the asterick, for many reasons. OkSU will always contest it, and many others will say the series is tied 1-1 and needs to have a tie-breaker. Regardless, the SEC won a 6th straight NC and remains king..

The thing about it is this"

Throughout the years the BCS has been sold to us as 'every game counts'.

The anti=playoff argument has always been that if we had playoffs, the regular season games wouldn't count and that was why we needed the BCS.

Bama lost their playoff game, single elimination, on Nov 5.

The fact that they were allowed to play LSU again invalidates years worth of pro-BCS 'every game counts' BS.

Bring on the playoff. Clearly the precedent has been set and regular season losses to division rivals don't exclude certain teams from National Title contention.

LSU had beat alabama twice to win the NC, however bama only had to beat LSU once....makes perfect sense.

The 2 best teams were matched up, period. That is what the BCS is supposed to do. You cry about the rematch, but praise the system when you use it to back in. Can't have it both ways.

You mean the times LSU won the SEC to get in?

I didn't go through and read this whole thread, but it seems if you butt hurt LSU fans want to complain about something... complain about the teams that were ranked AHEAD of Alabama, but couldn't close the deal.

'Bama wouldn't have whooped that tail had those other teams not lost.

Bama should have gotten the Georgia treatment.

Bottom line is on November 5th LSU didn't convince anyone that they were the better team. And it's now painfully obvious that you weren't.

The fact remains that the "Game of the Century" was nullified arbitrarily by media hype. That "Bama was handed an undeserved invitation to the game is indisputable and beyond question by anyone with an IQ >80. The fact that 'Bama won does not justify the decision to all them to play unless you endorse "The end justifies the means."

I for one do not. LSU had nothing to prove by beating 'Bama again in the same year. Why should they have to do that while 'Bama could lose at home and then claim to be champions by beating LSU later on. It defies any sense of what is moral and just-the kind of things that many supporters of 'Bama athletics find incomprehensible.

Further, the silly TideFans board had the courage to ban all LSU fans after the Tide lost to the lowly Tigers in its own back yard because the gentle sensibilities of the "faithful" could not brook facing the end of the ('Bama) universe. Yet here you are blathering on about playing the best. What nonsense. The Tide was the best because the ratings said so.

If the other one loss school had been UT or OU or even tOSU, then the gumps would have been bumped from a date with LSU. That is the truth.

This post is actually better than the OP.

Bama, and their "genius" coach, literally rode LSU's accomplishments all the way to the BCS title this year.

Hey, congrats to you. More power to you. You are the USC of the SEC. There is a reason why ESPN did not ONCE highlight LSU or Bama's "Road To The Title Game". ESPN did NOT want the nation to know that Bama had the weakest resume in the history of the BCSNCG, while LSU had the strongest.

You guys were granted a mulligan and you know it. If LSU doesn't have the season it has, and loses another game outside of "The Game of the Century", Bama sits at home with no second chance.

The "Every Game Counts" mantra that the BCS pushes is now null and void. With ESPN ruling the day, "quality losses" or other unwritten BS rules will be pulled out to benefit the big brand Programs like Bama.

As a fan of CFB, this concerns me. Without a playoff, we will now arbitrarily decide a third place team from a random conference can play for the title, despite losing their most important game during the regular season.

Again, this does not excuse the egg LSU laid on Jan 9th. You guys won your mulligan fair and square.

What annoys me as an LSU fan is that you guys (Bama fans) are not at all grateful towards LSU. Rubbing it in is literally "biting the hand that fed you", but you are too ignorant and arrogant to realize this.

One could argue LSU has "backed" into national title games before so that argument is pointless to me

I agree with this as well, only problem with this argument, when compared to Bama 2011 is this:

LSU HAD TO MEET A DIFFERENT STANDARD.

What did LSU have to do in order to make this game?

I'll give everyone a hint:

They had to finish higher than third in the SEC.

Why do you think these LSU fans wanted to play Alabama again after beating Alabama already and having to play an additional game than the Tide?

I'm one of those fans. My view was that beating a historically good Bama team (one of the best defenses of all time), and taking the entire season into account, would propel LSU to the top of the list of the best CFB teams of all time.

Beating Okie State would have been very good, but like Oregon, WVU, Arkansas, etc., not as impressive as knocking off the consensus no. 2 team in the country.

Twice.

I agree with this as well.

I'm glad we played Bama, for this reason. I'm just annoyed at how they got there. I think CFB will be screwed from here on out without a playoff.

What happens the year USC finishes third in the Pac 10 and ESPN decides USC vs The Winner of the Pac 10 is a suitable matchup for the BCSNCG?

We will all be pissed, Bama fans included.

Slippery slope. Think about it.

LSU was horrible offensively all year. I know, I know 38 pts per game

This is why any logical convo with Bama fans is pointless. This is amazing.

LSU defense was good not great like Bama's.

Really? Easy to say when you played North Texas, Kent State and BYE WEEK, while we played OREGON, WEST VIRGINIA (who scored 70 points in a BCS GAME) and Georgia.

quote:

LSU defense did a lot of bending and could not force a turnover or a 3 and out to help flip field position for the horrible offense.

Yet, your "amazing" offense could only muster 6 points and ONE trip to the Red Zone AT HOME IN THE "GAME OF THE CENTURY".

Sorry, used all caps so you could read and comprehend.

quote:

In the two games combined Bama only punted maybe 6 times. Think about that for a sec. Out of about 20 or more offensive posessions LSU defense could only force a punt a handful of times

And yet, you got one TD, which was literally meaningless....

You LSU fans that keep saying that Bama suffered no consequences of the loss act like on the morning of 11/6/11 people just woke up and stated, "Okay, everyone, just forget last night happened. Screw what anyone does the rest of the year, a rematch on 1/9/12 is locked in!" No. A unique and improbable set of circumstances had to occur that Bama undoubtedly benefitted from. But y'all act like Nick Saban was behind the curtain pulling levers to orchestrate the rematch.

Uhhhh,

You do realize the first question Les Miles was asked after the game, on the field, while LSU was celebrating was:

"How would you feel about a rematch".

Those of us who understand who holds the power in CFB, along with what teams they support for ratings, could see this coming the moment this took place.

Again, more power to you. Bama is the USC of the SEC. Be thankful. Thank LSU for going 13-0 and pulling you in the game.

That's all.

This thread is more whining. It is what it was! Get over it. I'm sure if next year goes the same with the roles reversed I don't think the game is a gimme for LSU. We play who the system gives us.

How is that the bottom line? LSU beat Bama on the road. That should have been the bottom line.

You give a team like Bama a second chance and you get what happened.

This cracks me up.

Michigan gets "dominated" by VaTech in the Sugar Bowl, yet ESPN never once questions their victory.

Why?

They are Michigan. A team on par with Bama in terms of being an entitled/media darling.

So many games this year in CFB had a similar result as LSU/Bama on 11/5.

Hell, using Bama/ESPN/Entitled Media darling logic, UGA "domintated" us in the SECCG.

Only problem is, UGA isn't loved by the media. 2007 is a prime example of this. Why weren't the unwritten rules changed in 2007 for UGA to benefit them the way Bama was benefitted in 2011?

CFB fans need to wake up and realize that there are certain teams who play by different standards. Bama is one of them.

Again, this does not excuse LSU losing on 1/9.
