It has become a lot better, which makes me lean towards youth being the issue.

I would love to spread out and go pass heavy, but with LF7's ability to pound the ball the gameplan makes sense.

Minimize the defense getting exposed.

Our second series of the second half was not the time to let Guice show that he is part of a two-headed monster rushing attack. He is not and Florida is not South Carolina. We came out soft and tried to protect a lead rather than go for the jugular. I know...we won...and I am happy as a clam, but #7, whether he's a decoy or not, needs to see the field until the game is no longer in doubt. I'm fine with Guice/Williams coming in a play or two, but not a whole series. And not when we've already begun to let UF back in it.

we did run LF 31 times

Would you not argue that Harris could have been a bigger part of the run game to take 5-6 carries off of LF? Read keeps, QB draws, sprint outs?

We came out soft and we were in position to win that game by 4 TDs. Then, Fournette can sit half of the 4th quarter like he's been doing. His 31 carries was a result of horrid lead-protection.

#3- coaching with the lead. i'm a big Miles guy but I could have choked him last night. we come out of the locker room with a TWO TOUCHDOWN LEAD and go 3 straight 3 and outs. If we would have scored a TD on our first possession it would have been 35 to 14 about midway thru the third. florida didn't seem to make any great adjustments, we just quit running the crossing routes and quit passing the ball completely.

We were pinned deep inside our own 20 each of those 3 possessions. Passing the ball in those situations was not sensible at the time. You give the ball to your stud, Fournette, and hope he reels off a couple 10 yarders and give the O some breathing room. Had he done that, this wouldn't even be up for discussion. He did not, so we tried to flip the field position with deep punts and solid D.

He will probably play a half next week and then have a week off. He will be fine.

Here we go again with this crap.
Do y'all watch the game???
1st drive. Holding call killed that drive.
2nd drive. Threw it 2 of the 3 times.
3rd drive. lf7 for 7. lf for lost of 2. 3rd and 5 swing pass. Just missed it.

Just great defense by a top defense in the country. Didn't go conservative thou. Just didn't execute. Play calling was great last night.
If those passing plays work. Then y'all would have been happy.
Relax. Plus we have best back in country. Yea you feed him.
Why you think they went for 4th and 7 on 35 with 4 min left. Cause they knew they couldn't hold 7 to not get a 1st down

They will take WK lightly and will need LF for 30 more carries. WK is the real deal.

hey i agree 100% that we went into "sit on the lead" offense and we should have used harris more

but we did use the hell out of LF last night

Miles gets happy being up by 14 and goes straight to vanilla mode to protect the lead.. and also seems like everytime we score and about to put a team away they always score an easy touchdown its either a kick off return or busted coverage for a long catch and run..

Well, I do know that WKU is not the time to sit him. The off-week certainly will be needed.

I love the shotgun, two half-back formation. It is basically Hilliard and James in 1982-84 but in a gun. I would love to see us do so much out of that including getting Dupree and Dural involved. Guiece/Williams and LF in at the same time, especially with a new FB, gives a great look (and can take carries off of LF) with so many possibilities. I would not mind seeing this out of a pistol set and even under-center ala Risher/James/Hilliard.

Yup, that's why I found it funny when folks say lsu will make adjustments in the second half and win big..that's great and all but so will the other team

like i was saying in the cam cameron thread

getting away from using a FB opens up everything for our entire offense, especially a hurry up here or there

2 TEs or 1 TE/3 WRs can line up and do everything we want on offense, including the passing and rushing game...and the D can't tee off on a formation due to one player on the field (like they can with the FB)

Not moving the ball, or executing, doesn't mean he went vanilla.

No kidding.

We put 35 pts, 425 yds up on a good D, our QB completes almost 70% with 2 TDs, we have a balanced O, we have a ST's play that's gives us the deciding score, and we beat a Top 10, undefeated SEC team and we spend the day after picking apart the win.

I will spend the day enjoying a kinda big win to this point in the season and others can do as they wish.

If UF would've completed those passes on their last drive, we had a strong chance of losing the game. Harris was the only reason they didn't. Their guys were wide open.

I'm good relaxing once we get up by 28,but anything before that is ludicrous

I dont think anyone expected 60 points, but exaggerations can be fun.
