When you hit upwards of 15 different eligible receivers in four quarters of football, it really makes it more scary to defend. Texas will see in film study that Burreaux can, and will, hit any eligible receiver, anywhere on the field, at any given time. We have legitimate check down options on top of all the pre-snap options. What we saw Saturday was honestly a very basic form of our spread RPO that will become more complex as players gain a more fundamental familiarity with the concepts. Our offense is on a very clear upward trajectory.
Stop it!

I can only get so hard.

I mean it's not as if Texas plays in a conference where teams have been running this system for much longer and much better, not to mention conference where the QB's are much more of a throwing and running threat than Burrow... Yup, this offence is going to scare the bejeesus out of us.

When 90% of the pre snap motion's sole purpose is to threaten a jet sweep....its a gimmick.

It should.

All those years of analysis/film, Texas still can’t stop anyone.

I'd say y'all suck at stopping any spread. 127th pass d makes me think we are running the perfect offense to play y'all. If it's style is big12 in nature ,then we good

Could you imagine being such a fricking idiot that you would talk shite about stopping any offense when you were one of the worst in the nation last year. Then you lose tons of players ,and still talk shite.

39 passing plays/33 running plays. I'd say that is fairly balanced.

You mean running halfback dives into Bama’s 9 man box of 5 star 340 pound linemen and 6’5” 265# all American linebackers for a decade wasn’t the best strategy?

Except when he had a QB he trusted we did a lot more than that

2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 Bama games all featured varied offensive schemes.

Of course there was also 2011 where we just sent out an actual NFL defense

Ok, so to respond to this logically...

Yes. They do. And the Texas defense has trouble stopping it.
quote:

QB's are much more of a throwing and running threat than Burrow
Throwing? Yes. Running? Don't be so sure. Hurts and Ehlinger are better BIG12 runners than Burrow. Burrow has running toughness and ability comparable to or better than most other BIG12 QB's.

Well placed sarcasm. I tip my hat to you.

...It's not the offense that should scare you.

Not gonna talk crap because I'm not one of the fans that believes this will be a cakewalk for LSU. In Austin, and the way Herman had had marked and recordable success getting his teams to play out of their mind for big games... it's undoubtedly gonna be a fistfight.

All I originally said, was,
quote:

Texas will see in film study that Burreaux can, and will, hit any eligible receiver, anywhere on the field, at any given time.
I said it would be more scary to defend, but nowhere did I insinuate that Texas would be scared. They're used to seeing the spread.

What they're absolutely not used to seeing is a defense like LSU brings to Austin in a few days. An Aranda-led, fully healthy, hungry, attacking defense the likes of which is all but unknown to the BIG12. Ehlinger will meet K'Lavon Chaisson early and often. Chaisson has faced Ehlinger in the past. They have some familiarity...

I look very much forward to the on-field chess match.

Texas won't see anything out of the ordinary from our offense - they'll remain one of the worst defenses in the country Saturday and we'll score points.

Where Texas be shocked and overwhelmed is our defense. They aren't used to our speed, man-to-man coverage, and pressure. They didn't even see that against Georgia. Georgia played Texas last year the same way they played us - soft.

Texas WRs will be covered so Ehlinger is going to be forced to run a lot. The biggest test for our entire team this weekend will be our front 7, can they contain Ehlinger... And I think they can.
