I don't see this team being stacked next season. Raph won't hit .500 for most of the season, Gausman won't be back, we already are having problems getting people into the lineup that can hit better than Arby Fields and that's before we lose Hanover and Nola. We might be decent next year but not stacked unless we have a bunch of Freshmen All Americans coming in.

And plus we have a terrible coach, right?

you and i must be watching a different edward. he's a liability on defense and far from great on offense. he might be decent at 1st if he was a power hitter.
Really? I thought he looked fine in regionals. Did not have an error. Caught everything that came his way. Had a clutch double saturday night. Yep...

this time last year, we were doomed coming in to this year.
This was hardly the sentiment, most everyone was unsure about the hitting, but everyone knew pitching (At least weekend pitching) was going to be very good.

What I'm trying to say is that a talented kid can make a big jump after not showing a whole lot as a freshman. A lot of times the big jump comes between freshman and sophomore seasons. I mean the kid pitched 16 innings all season. Yeah he was drafted. So was Joey B (how was his first season at LSU), Louis Coleman, Ryan Eades, Ty Ross, Austin Nola, etc.
Nick Rumbelow and Cotton threw 13 innings each last season. I'd say they've performed well this year.
Glenn has some talent. He'll have Dunn working with him again next season and I wouldn't be shocked at all if he was a weekend starter.
And all I said was he finally needed to step up because we could REALLY use him next year. What's so funny about that? He underperformed this year like some other guys do sometimes. He was supposed to be a weekday starter but as you mentioned only pitched 16 innings because he never stepped it up. All I'm saying is he needs to step up next year when we really will need him.

Is this the game thread? Usually the doomsayers are in the game thread early, maybe about the 3rd inning, predicting the demise of the program.
I guess some are just warming up for Friday.

You would use the word stacked?
Last years football team was stacked, well except for QB

I guess I should change the wording to loaded to be consistent

I think we'll be a little more than just decent. We'll be one of the favorites to win the conference.

im talking about the hitting.
it was just yesterday people thought Yocom was a JUCO stud, Slaid was tearing it up in practice, Jacoby Jones was going to be All SEC, and Mason Katz couldnt lead this team.

Latest on Gallo:

@KendallRogersPG: Thinking he signs. RT @Tex2044: @KendallRogersPG Does LSU expect Gallo to sign or do they still think there's a chance he comes to B-Rouge?

we have far less question marks going into next year than we did coming into this year.
People forget most of us thought LSU was a .500 ballclub in coference this year. Some picked us to finish just above .500 then after the app state series, we were for sure a .500 or below SEC team.
We have a very strong foundation in Katz, Rhymes, and Ross. If Jacoby breaks out of his sophomore slump and Tyler Moore progresses, that is 5 legit SEC bats. I expect Moore's production from his freshman to soph year to mirror that of Ty Ross'. I really like Ross alot last year and I really like Moore's approach at the plate. He's got a short quick stroke, and doesn't have alot of wasted movement at the plate, plus he has a pretty good eye. Nola, Mccune, Eades, Cotton, Rumbelow, Glenn, Bonvaiallan. Dunn will make it work with those arms.
Plus you have the incoming guys to help out also.
