I was absolutely disgusted at that in the stadium.
May not have done much at SC, but he is a coaching legend in the SEC and the chant was over NOTHING.
Although TBH, a lot of that was so well heard on TV because there seemed to be to few folks out outside of the SS

Thats what gets me about the chant.
Its like they are making it as vulgar as possible for the sake of being vulgar.
Because now you are in college away from your parents I guess the best way to express your newfound freedom is profanity.

Their new found freedom is about to get taken away by big daddy LSU who isn't happy about his bratty kids being vulgar idiots.

Again, the "you sucks" isn't that horrific, but it is being taken away to make a point. When I was at LSU, we had Oh We Oh just starting. It wasn't meant to be an insult to opponents but to get the crowd into it leading up into the kickoff following the score.
"Kids" and I used that term loosely, just decided, "Hey, its no fun to have a cheer if you can't insult the opponents, so let's be utterly juvenile and yell 'you suck' after it".
Yes, quite clever to little children i am sure.
The ruining of Neck is an utter disgrace and TigerRag wasn't removed because people cheered just "Assholes, Assholes" after it. Something else was obviously involved.
Again, They were warned last year. Are these "students" 3 years old that need to be warned 100 times to not do something before it gets through their skulls?
These aren't kids anymore. When you are 18+ you are an adult. Start acting at least somewhat like one. I don't expect anything to change with these kids. Look at them with their intentional cheering of "Oh we Oh! You suck!" without the band. Yup, they sure do get it.

That's exactly it. I mean, the "you suck, cocks" chant was at least somewhat clever.

It's not banned..it was all just a rumor

Um no.
The University is the reason the team exists. The university is comprised of students (athletes and non-athletes). No students = No university = No team
TAF merely funds the financial aspect of the team. Even without TAF, there would still be a team. We certainly wouldn't have nice facilities or the best team, but we'd still have a team nonetheless.

The two parties are interdependent. It's been about 130 years since college football was a student-run endeavor.

Yes but not because of saying you suck, the SS chanted "F*** you Spurrier" that game and you could hear it on CBS.
They banned Tiger Rag for "you suck, cocks." F you Spurrier had nothing to do with it.

I never had a problem with "you suck" even though it's short for "you suck dick".
I don't agree with that. I believe it to synonymous with "you stink."

Wow, maybe you are in fact the epic moron. TAF makes the team, not the students.
LSU football was around long before TAF.

but now is their opportunity to GROW UP and show they are actually mature.
And here in lies the problem. Today, most 18-19 year olds don't think they need to be mature yet. My little brother is a sophomore, and all his friends feel that way. At some point, they'll grow up. But then you have to deal with the new freshmen that feel like that. It's a never ending cycle.

Neck hasn't been banned (yet), it's just a rumor going around.
If the student section keeps it up, then it likely will be.

I can petty much guarantee the only ones saying "suck that tiger dick" are Frats. Sit far away from the Frats and you don't hear i. Sit close to them and it's clear as hell. They're also the ones that add all the extra bs to every chant. Get rid of the Frats and that pretty much takes care of this problem.
again this is such BS. people in the greek section have better things to do than add gay crap to cheers. no one in the greek section was saying any of this. its the GDIs that wear bandanas to games and basketball shorts and paint up that start it every time.
I can vouch...I have greek seats, but I sit in the non-greek section for a couple of games each year with some of my friends who arent greek. i highly doubt theres many people who sit in both sections, so I actually know what I'm talking about.

That was the impression at the time. The reasoning given was that "People were confused" about the Alma Mater, yelling Forever LSU! at the end of the first verse. So they decided to play both verses, and to do that they had to cut Tiger Rag. That's what was said at the time, but then no reason was given for why the band couldn't play it in the stands.
To my knowledge, nothing besides "Assholes!" was chanted during Tiger Rag.

I sit in the bottom row of the student section and had no clue this was happening! I couldn't hear it. And if you know anything about sound on tv...it's all about where you shoot the mike. It could have been just a select group. Either way...some people just never learn. O we o was fine til the sc game. Neck was fine till now.

Go to the 6:00 mark and listen. You can hear it clear as day from the 50 yard line east side.

Are you serious? Sooo, we should just go ahead and rename the team the Tiger Athletic Foundation Tigers instead of LSU Tigers right? I mean since the team has NOTHING to do with the students and the university, right? I mean it's not like it's STUDENT-athletes that play the games.
