Bama is going to crush ND anyway so it's pointless

Yeah, I'm pulling for Notre Dame but, like I was telling people yesterday, it's kinda like pulling for Wile E. Coyote.

I agree. Bama should destroy the Irish. I'll be pulling for ND just the same. Having had a sister attend ND we still have some ties to South Bend. Plus there is no way I could ever pull for Alabama.

Don't get me wrong, if ND pulls off the upset I won't complain

But this is the biggest mismatch since 2001 Miami vs Nebraska

Why exactly should Alabama "destroy" Notre Dame

It's just not a good matchup

ND has a good defense but they haven't seen an offensive line like Bama's

Bama's line is just that good this year. They can run for 200 yards on anyone. There isn't a front 7 in football that matches up with them.

ND won't be able to hold them to under 28 and it's doubtful that they'll be able to score that much

2001 should've been Tennessee versus Miami.

Did they run for 200 on us?

if you were going to design an offense for bama's D to tee off on, it's notre dame's offense

What's so great about Bama's offense other than the running game? Which plays into ND's strength in their front 7....

I don't get this whole "Bama is going to trash ND" thought process.

Bama showed yesterday that they're pretty one dimensional. They have ONE WR. ONE. Take out Williams as a safety valve and put pressure on McCarron and he struggles.

BAMA ran for over 300 yards on the ground yesterday and still had to fight to win the game. Something doesn't add up there. BAMA is lucky that UGA's run D suuuucks. Notre Dame's doesn't.

ND matches up well, and IMO, add the SEC bias up with the hatred of ND because of the media (like the media doesn't love BAMA either ) and I think this is going to be a better game then everyone thinks.

I don't see Bama crushing Notre Dame. They might win but it is not a guarantee. When Bama has faced good defenses they have barely won; Georgia and LSU. When they faced a running quarterback, good offense and a decent defense they lost; TAMU.

Notre Dame has a very good defense and were pretty good against Stanford's run game. They held them to 147 rushing and 272 total yards.

Notre Dame has a running quarterback and I think he'll give Bama trouble. This Alabama defense is NOT the defense of a year ago and has shown it is suseptible to both run and pass. We ran for 139 and passed for 296. We're not an offensive juggernaut.

Go Irish! (at least this game)

Disagree.

Is Notre Dame going to put up 450 yards? No.

But they will move the ball effectively and have the players to create mismatches and the ability to run the ball to keep the Bama defense honest.

I think ND has a chance. Bama played a soft schedule too.

It's silly because you should just pull for whomever you want. Neither outcome affects LSU an iota.

ND not seen speed on D like SEC/Bama when play BC, Navy, and the like. Please don't say USCw, is laughable. The line will open ND-10 i'm sure!

correction, the outcome affects LSU a lot. Recruiting is a lot easier when you come calling fresh off a NC win. You guys need to start realizing this.

Not so fast, my friend. Bama isn't that good - they went 2-1 against the only good teams they played, and they needing coaching blunders to eke out those two wins. Brian Kelly is a solid coach unlikely to make the mistakes that Richt amd Miles made handing those games to Bama. I think ND has a good shot at beating the Gumps.

It probably is silly, but from the perspective of an LSU fan and maybe other fans, it represents two systems and traditions of athletics that LSU will emulate in the future.

Alabama is a football factory, this is their history. There is little of renown in any other aspect of Alabama as a institution or university. Alabama fans can enlighten me, as to why I am wrong.

Notre Dame has tried to maintain something more then just football throughout its history, although I'm not so naive to understand that they have not done some sinister things to win games, recruit, etc.

So what about LSU, sometimes I am afraid LSU will become Alabama, a school whose identity is based solely around athletics, and not the traditions and academics that are unique to it.

Therefore I prefer LSU have more in common with Notre Dame with some ethic, spirit, and soul as opposed to the philistine Alabama.
