I agree with everything you said except for Brossette. I think he is accurately estimated.

Thumbs up.

So basically if O goes less than 10-2, he should be canned? I'm on board with that.

Yes, this team is talented, there is no question. It's a team we would be talking a natty with if Miles were still around. Why should we expect anything less from O?

Just to clarify, I don't think they go 10-2. I'm saying that should be the benchmark and anything less should be unacceptable. 9-3 or 8-4 should be the end of the O experiment.

On paper based on recruiting, you’re mostly right. To a certain degree then, you can say the coaches have done their job recruiting wise.

But, as you note, we’re very inexperienced and we don’t know if all of that potential and hype will materialize on the football field.

Assuming no transfers, we’re in great shape at QB now. We’re in great shape at DLine. And we have a number of physical freaks at WR and S.

We are VERY thin at CB. We are also very thin at OLine. For both positions you can thank undrafted departees Toby Weathersby and Kevin Tolliver (as well as 7th rounder Will Clapp). This is also our weakest RB crop (on paper) in a decade.

The interior line backing corps seems to be White and a bunch of dudes. The outside line backing corps seems to be a nice prospect in Chiasson and a bunch of dudes.

Many LSU fans read recruiting profiles and overrate our players. Like in the OP, he’s declaring Greedy a future All Pro. Maybe. Certainly he is a future 1st or 2nd round pick (third round at worst) but he’s played all of one season in college.

So to an extent I agree with the OP - we are still a very talented roster.

But we do lack experience and we do lack depth at some key spots. And when you have to play Bama and Georgia (both of whom are stacked everywhere), along with Miami out of conference and the “regular” SEC schedule including one of the most veteran State teams in years, a top 10 ranked team in Auburn, Florida with a good coach, A&M with a good coach, etc., talent alone is not enough. Need some guys to achieve their potential this year!

yet even after we stumbled out the gate with the crappy offense and thin DL and Ol and inexperience we turned it around and ended up with a SEC record that has only been exceeded one time since 2007. Also turned around a in conference skid where we had only won 12 of our last 22 SEC games and 4 of our last 9 games. For some one who has been labeled a bum by some of our fan base he appears to be turning things around and is off to a good start and this season will tell a good bit about whether he is the long term answer to our coaching woes or not.

he managed to piece together a quite talented team with two solid recruiting classes and some key transfers solidifying positions that have been issues for years.

Not even close. That was 2011. This team is better than 2014 and perhaps 2012.

We can talk about coaching staff ability all day, but the whole "least talented LSU team" thing is just idiotic. This team has loads of talent all over the place.

LSU always has tons of talent. Theres a reason 247 had us listed as the 6th most talented team last year

One is coach by Ed Orgeron and the other Nick Saban?

I don't know that they have their best team

They have the most dynamic QB that they've had in a long time but that doesn't mean best team

We play them later in the season so his weaknesses may be exploited by the time he plays us

itgot the last coach fired. Plus he couldn’t get to 10 wins despite playing the easiest schedule this decade. Choking against notre dame was beautiful as well

This season is the perfect season to prove to the CFB world that LSU is back and relevant again. We shall see.

I was being sarcastic. I know this isn’t our best team ever and I know it’s not Bama’s best team ever.
We are still underdogs in that game.
