I would say that is not good technique. The DB has every right to stand where he is on the field. He is not obligated to move out the receiver’s way.

Better than catchable the receiver gave up on the ball. I don’t think he knew where it was. When he let up that should tell you it’s a no call.

it could have been called offensive PI just as accurately as DPI. That call was ridiculous but not as bad as the illegal pass receiver call that wasn't even made by the line judge, but by a back judge. How is that even possible?

I gave you the facts of the play, explained why it was a bad call, meanwhile you havent got a single counterpoint to anything ive said related to the call.

Agree the bear hug was dumb, I’m not gonna dispute that. But go back and look at the play, the WR clearly quit on the play and I think the DB saw that and thought the play was over. That plays into why it wasn’t a catchable ball because even the WR didn’t know where the ball was.

Db gave Houston receiver a Christmas hug. It looked so gay it gave ref a reason to pull out his flag. The defensive line and lb are getting no pressure in fairness. Just not playing very well. Coach getting a flag was an ugly look and easy flag by poor officiating.

Does the receiver not seeing the pass make it uncatchable by rule? I don’t know if that’s an actual consideration or not. The ball lands only about 5 yards behind the bear hugging foes. It was certainly a catchable pass by either guy.

once the WR stops it cannot be PI. WR had to be trying to catch the ball period.
