Don't get me wrong, watching/listening to us utterly destroy teams at a raucious Alex Box in the 90s are some memories that I will cherish forever, but something about this weekend was just different.

We start off with just an abysmal unspiring loss where we had very little if anything to cheer about for 9 innings.

Follow that with a walk-off in extras to just stay alive.

Need pretty much mistake free long outings from MULTIPLE true freshman pitchers just to have a chance to climb back, and we get exactly that.

Bats finally come alive to take care of Gonzaga.

An inside the park HR helps us beat Oregon (fast as frick boi )

And all of it culminating in an absolutely thrilling tug of war last night that had us ultimately do something we haven't done since before the epic 90s run.

Usually I've settled down the day after a big win, but man I'm still wired.

What a weekend.

It’s the difference of being the 1 seed at home and expecting to win and being a 3 seed on the road with your back against the wall.

Most exciting for me since that regional where we played Rice on a Tuesday in 2016, and Deichmann hit that 2 run blast on top of the camera in LCF

Sciambra hitting the walk off vs UL-Lafayette in the Supers in 2015 was bonkers as well

The early 90s regional (when there was no supers and regional had 6) teams against usc was epic. Brett Boone was a force. LSU lost the marble game by a run and had to come through the losers bracket. Beat usc twice in a row by 1 run each game.

It's a result of lowered expectations. When your team does something they are "not supposed to do" it reminds you how much fun sports can be.

It's strange, but winning all the time can sometimes bring apathy. You're not happy when your team wins because that's what they are "supposed to do" as a matter of course.

When LSU beat Florida in 97 it was sheer joy because that wasn't supposed to happen. Same last season vs. Florida (even though it was a bad season overall).

100%

I'm almost always more angry after losses than I am happy after wins, especially in football and baseball where the expectations are always so high.

That wasn't the case last night.

Dang, I couldn't go back to sleep. Took me near 4:00 am before I finally dozed off. I don't drink (can't do hard stuff) but I envied that TD dude who downed that glass(s) of Scotch.

Bring on the Super Region. But first let me up the RPM's on my pacemaker. Boy I'm hot ta-nite!! Warp speed baby!!

This was definitely one of the most exciting baseball games in a long time- makes me hopeful about the next two years.

Agreed….I am damn glad I stayed up to watch that! I’m done with work now and after I eat some dinner, I have a feeling I will crash hard!
