S&P

Loses 8/11 defensive starters.

Loses 3/5 starting offensive linemen.

Loses starting tailback.

We should win by two TD's

Yes based on last year's production

Those numbers are a little inflated after I did some research. They lose 6 true starters on defense. They are very concerned about their linebackers, and they should be. Also the D line talent is not that great.
On the o line they did lose 3 guys but they got a transfer from GA Tech who is supposedly the best Gaurd in the country. But one of their tackles are fairly weak.

And Herman is also known for being one of those coaches who is definitely able to do more with less.

It's going to be a battle, no one should be kidding himself about that.

I really wish we could stop having these over confident threads about the game. Just annoying. I don’t care if we win by 1 honestly a W against a Top 15 opponent to get the year started should be the only goal in mind for this team.

Losing Lil'Jordan Humphrey is also rough. You don't just get over losing a name like that.

No one should be scared of this game. LSU has out recruited Texas and has way more returning starters/production.

Vegas has us favored by 9 for a reason.

Maybe. They've recruited well so there's potential there's. And they have a damn good QB. But I can't imagine they will have reached their full potential by week 2. I imagine they'll be the kind of team that loses a couple early but teams will hate to see on the schedule come late October/November.

He is?

He lost to Maryland two years in a row. I think Texas should have more talent than Maryland. Last year Maryland's coach that beat Hot Lips was Matt Canada of LSU fame. He was coach because Maryland had a player die and suspended some of their coaches.

Kissing-Bandit also lost 3 conference games his last season at Houston. Houston was by far the most talented team in that conference according to 24/7.

I'm not sure who could possibly know him as one of those coaches that is definitely able to do more with less.

That sounded crazy when you said it but you're right. That is a huge spread in a true road game.

This is a huge chance for a statement game.

This is why I dont understand how UT is projected to be ranked ahead of LSU in preseason polls. Look up any "way too early 2019 top 25" polls and they are a top 10 team. Im fine with them being hyped as such for selfish reasons but LSU should be the better team in this matchup

eta - loving this. will be built up as the big one
ESPN - #7 Texas, #12 LSU
Athlon - #6 Texas, #9 LSU
USA Today - #5 Texas, #8 LSU
SI - #8 Texas, #13 LSU
sporting news - #6 Texas, #7 LSU
CBS Sports is the outlier... #4 LSU, #11 Texas

True Story: We lost Barkevious Mingo after the 2012 season and the 2013 defense was probably our of the Miles Era.

LSU should win handily, I'm thinking by at least two TDs.

If the offense is what we hope it is, i don’t see why we should run away in this game.

Texas is probably still a year or two away. They’d last two classes are good but Freshmen and Soohmore aren’t winning this game for them.

Isnt Hermans record something ridiculous when his team is the underdog? Something like a 90% winning percentage I think. Thats probably the point he was making brutha
