I love this. Why the hell should the visiting fans get good seats? And with today’s secondary market it’s not like you can’t get seats field level anyways.

So you’re fans don’t get dicked over with seats.

Is this where the bands are placed for 2019 & 2020 Home and Home? (TCU last Saturday)

Of all of the SEC football venues I've been to, LSU gives visiting fans the best seats by far. A couple of years ago, LSU finally got around to reducing the number of visitor seats in the lower bowl and relocating a big chunk of them to the new south end zone upper deck and the east uppers.

Yep.

I'm not sure what they'll do with the LSU cheerleaders.

I guess they will be behind the LSU bench and facing the UT student section. Yikes.

I'm not sure. I didn't go to the game.

LSU will only bring a small pep band, so they won't be performing at halftime.

It would seem to be a logistical nightmare when a full band visits. I understand revamping the fan experience, but oppose such a setup. It violates the spirit of the sport - don't suppose it would fly in the SEC...

Texas brought their full band to TCU last year and they were placed in the upper deck, so the Big XII has been allowing it for at least a year.

Bama will be the first school to do it. Just wait.

All LSU needs to do is allow fans to bring bourbon into the stadium

LSU games should go back to free student admission w/id like it was when I was there, and put the band back toward the middle of the west side where they were for years.

I think Teams should probably reciprocate seats in comparable sections.

Obviously if we’re getting upper deck seats they should too.

My understanding is that Big12 teams allot 4,000 for visitors, while SEC does double that...

It just means more...

That's pretty much what's happening now. Schools have to give 2000 tix in the lower sections per SEC rule. The rest are crappy nose bleed seats.

They've also removed all visitor seating from the lower deck of DKR Stadium. All visiting fans and their bands must now sit in the north end zone upper level.

Looks like we're gonna have to band together and all buy tickets in one particular section of the lower bowl.

I’ll be deep in the Texas fans with the part of the family who went to UT. I’ll try to get thrown out.

1. LSU only alots 6K for visiting fans.

2. SEC mandates where visiting seat alotments are. Half must be in lower bowl. Texas will get exactly that when they visit us and they will bring their entire band and it will be in the lower bowl. LSU cannot reciprocate without breaking SEC rules.

3. LSU needs to bring our whole band to Austin next year no matter where they will be seated.

It would be ignored by Alleva. Why bother.

True. One way or another, by retirement or pressure, Alleva is a lame duck AD. He likely has a bonus tied to this fiscal year's football program revenue and overall sports profitability, so he is not going to do anything that would negatively affect the bottom line. Not until we have a new AD will there be an opportunity to address the game day experience.

I will be very surprised if Texas brings their full band to LSU, although they might since Dr. Hanna is a Tiger Band and LSU alum. If they do and they are in the lower bowl, that would use up over 400 of the tickets they are allotted.

I’d love to see the full Tiger Band in Austin, but Alleva would never allow it.

we have a more sports board for this

Relevant to the rant because LSU continually finds ways to F the fan for more money

Here is a school that is trying to improve the fan experience, keeping fans in the stadium, thus increasing the home field advantage
Now LSU prefers money and is ok with crickets in the second half.
The band was moved to accommodate the fans in the upper west who couldn't hear the band, but the cost was a band that doesn't sound as loud
