What about Arkansas? Bama? State? Auburn? All of those Ds had issues in the secondary so why did LSU not try to expose that?
frick man we couldn't throw for shite last year, it was either run it, or find a new way to run it. Now with Mett in 2013, they definitely changed it up. Some games they would run and Mett would complete enough passes to win, other games, he'd air it out 30+ times.

You can't seem to comprehend that Mett's footwork was not flawless in 2012 & it wasn't just affecting his deep ball. Cam definitely came in & cleaned up certain aspects of Mett's game. Improvement didn't just come from "reps". How about you let that marinate on your grey matter for a minute?
Yea your clearly as retarded as I thought you were. Your still saying shite that has nothing to do with what I said. Timing is perfected through reps no ifs ands or buts about it. I think you've had enough Zima's for the night

I'm a Steelers fan myself but Bradshaw was not very good. He led a great team.
I agree. Bradshaw was nothing more then a game manager during the first two Super Bowl runs but you have to admit that once Bradshaw understood how to take advantage of having Swann & Stallworth vertically, it brought another dimension to the Steelers during the other runs.

My concern is if Harris does not start this season.. then Jennings will be returning as a Senior.. and again as a Senior he will be the starter yet again.. Regardless.. That would then only allow a talent like Harris 1 starting season at LSU.. (If he even decided to stay at that point) Harris has too much talent to limit to only one season. Get him prepared.
What is disgusting is the people who dismiss him after 1 true freshman season.. and say LSU has no quarterback.. Let's just see how much he has progressed. It's still way early.

The handling of Harris and quarterbacks in general with the current Les Miles philosophy severely limits their confidence.
If there is a polar opposite to the baptism by fire Jarrett Lee went through in 2008, it was Harris's development in 2014.

Bradshaw's assessment is right on. CLM's QB management is piss poor.

Uh, no. He made an observation. Same as many on this board do. The fact that you don't LIKE what he said doesn't necessarily mean he's butthurt about not coming here. It just makes you feel better to think that.

Mett completely changed his placement of the ball. Instead of trying to get his receiver to outrun the defender, he began throwing his WRs open.

Bradshaw has a carrer completion percentage of 51% with almost as many interceptions as touchdowns. Seems like he was aided by a strong defense and running game. So he is a dum frick with a ax to grind but really I think he's just a dum prick

You are absolutely wrong. Footwork especially when it comes to a quarterback's drop act as timing mechanisms as to when to receivers are supposed to come open.
quote:
The Coryell offense relies on speed and timing from its wide receivers, with a lot of shifts and motions in formations (the NFL had just enacted the "Mel Blount Rule," banning the jamming of receivers after five yards). Routes need to hit the appropriate depth at the right time, and his offense often encouraged "speed" cuts on routes, or more rounded angles that allowed the wideouts to change direction without breaking stride (Note: this has also become more common as receivers get bigger -- 6-4 guys with long strides can't start and stop as quickly for the sharper cuts). Walsh popularized the option route, and relied on his receivers making precise adjustments mid-play to, frankly, run to the spot that the defense left open. Essentially, Coryell preferred to stretch defenses vertically, whereas Walsh stretched them horizontally.
In a quarterback, Coryell preferred having a big, strong-armed guy that could get the ball down the field and on time. Timing, and getting the ball out, is a premium for the QB but most concepts are designed to be read deep-to-short. Guys like Fouts, Troy Aikman and Kurt Warner were able to stand tall in the pocket and deliver that deep ball with the pass rush bearing down. Walsh's ideal was the Joe Montana-type. Smart enough to not only read the defense, but anticipate how a receiver might read it, and make accurate short throws, specifically with regards to hitting receivers in stride so they could run after the catch.

quote:
Then when you begin working on the five-step drops (three-steps from shotgun), the first routes you work on are the 10-12 yard speed out (6 vertical steps to 10 yards and then two “roll” or speed steps to the sideline at 12 yards), the five-step skinny post and the vertical “Go” route. Each is thrown off of 5-steps (or three from gun) on rhythm — i.e. once the fifth step hits it is “plant and throw” and there is no hitch up step. I do these first because it teaches the quarterback rhythm, timing, footwork, and how to transfer his weight on drops to his throw. And you quickly find out who can do it: If a quarterback can’t throw these routes on rhythm, he can’t be the quarterback in a pass first offense. In high school if a guy can’t make the 12 yard speed out throw to the wide side that’s okay, but he should be able to throw the skinny post to the wide side and the speed out to the boundary

I love it when people get defensive about the offense.

If he is talking QBs, how can you disagree. at this point Harris and Jennings should be further along. As for Mett, he had the skills and was allowed to use them with world class receivers.

Terry Bradshaw runs his mouth trashing the team that people claim to be fans of and a bunch of you mouth breathers jump all over it.
What a fricking horrible fanbase lsu has. It's unreal how terrible this fan base can be.
