but their Defense was #2 in the SEC and #4 in the nation in 2008.

Why are so many people opposed to Chavis?

look at his overal record year by year. You get a good defense every three years.

The team had no offense the past few years. Defense played well considering. I like Coach O and Ron English as well. Recruiting with these two would be great.

I don't understand either of these. English had 1 good year at Mich, 1 bad year, and has done what at Louisville this season? Coach O was a DC for 2 years, and was horrible

Because he doesn't run an aggressive defense and coaches from the press box instead of running around on the sidelines like a madman. Many want a Muschamp type that will play press coverage and blitz on almost every down. Of course, they don't care if that results in being the 108th pass defense like Texas.

Understood, I am not sold on them, but I like the recruits they could bring. I think Chavis has proven to be solid. There are other guys out there i.e. the TCU coach, Mike Stoops, etc.

to be fair, he had to go up against Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Ok. St., Missouri, and Kansas

Look at his results against UGA, UA and UF --- the three teams that we need to beat to win SEC titles. They are abysmal. I posted this in another thread yesterday. Over the past 2 years he has given up well over 30 points a game to these three, including over 40 a game in the their SEC East Champ year of 2007.

We can just keep Mallveto if this is what we are getting.

ANYTHING would be better than what we have now which is confusion, stupidity and no discipline, but the no discipline falls on Miles imo
