2019 LSU team
Auburn - Won by 3, 23-20
@ Bama- Won by 5, 46-41

LSU only beat Auburn by 3 in Death Valley. Yes that 2019 LSU team was great, but to sit here and act like you didn’t struggle in 2 games that year which could have went either way is silly.

Nah, they’re not as good. But it’s a cool story.

Offensively, they are as good. Defense and special teams, not so much

Nobody said they did not struggle some. But lets not act like Tennessee has gone through the same type of schedule LSU had went through. The SEC as a whole is down this year and really down compared to the SEC was in 2019. Tennessee is good nobody is denying that but its way to early for you Tennessee fans to be comparing them to the 2019 LSU team. I was really enjoying Tennessee being relevant again but now I am hoping Georgia beats the doors off of them to get Tennessee fans back to reality

LSU never trailed in the 4th quarter with the toughest schedule the world has ever seen.

You obviously didn’t watch that Auburn game. They had 287 yards total for the game we had 508 yards. We dominated the game and had drives stall by the goal line. That game was not near as close as it should have been unlike Tenn who gives up 400 plus yards to anybody with a pulse on offense and barely beat Pitt

I think when anyone says Tennessee is like the 2019 lsu team, it’s more of a championship trajectory. They were both unexpectedly elite teams. And make no mistake, regardless of if they are even close to the lsu 2019 team, they are elite.

Some similarities in story at this point in the season. Some unexpected elite level play. That’s pretty much it. Anyone trying to say they’re as good as 2019 lsu at this point is asinine.

I think Tennessee is probably the best team in the country, and that’s all you can be. Neither LSU in 2019, nor any other team, is the best of all time, because that is unknowable. The 2019 Tigers were a great team. It’s fun to reflect on that occasionally. But to keep insisting that they are better than whichever team is this year’s best smacks of jealousy.

It’s an opinion to say they they are the GOAT team but if you are being objective, LSU has the best resume. Accomplishment wise, it could be a while before we see a team top that season

Create straw man argument. Explain why you disagree with the straw man. Post on site/board specifically made for people who will agree with you. Everyone gets so worked up and insecure over straw man they hope that little underdog Georgia beats mighty Tennessee to bring them back to reality.

Anyone who is actually bothered by this should probably seek help get your mind right.

LSU '19 beat 7 top 10 teams, UT '22 beat 1 top 10.

Get back to me after UT does ALOT more work.

If Tennessee beats Georgia, it will set up a rematch against Alabama in the SEC Championship Game
Good God Shehan, they haven't even won the coin toss yet.

ETA, I wouldn't supply this arse with any more clicks.

I think it's kind of an honor to be the team that everyone compares the hot team of the year to. It used to be they'd always say "yeah but how would this team stack up against 2001 Miami or 1995 Nebraska?" Now everyone says "how would they do against 2019 LSU?". They usually wait until someone wins the championship to compare them to champions of the past before they do such things though, it's silly to do that now no matter how good a team looks. Remember when 2005 USC was the best team of all time until they couldn't even win their own year's championship?

Besides, what really made that LSU team go down as forever legends was blowing the doors off of three top 4 teams in a row in Georgia, OU, and Clemson back to back to back in the postseason. UT hasn't even clinched a berth in the SEC CG yet. They appear to be having a special year but people need to pump the brakes comparing them to all time great teams, there's a lot of football left to be played

Think we know that lol. Don’t think Tennessee has a first round pick on the team currently, though I’m a fan of Hyatt. LSU was a much more loaded roster and faced a much more challenging schedule.
