Tennessee chancellor calls the shots now?

Tennessee Chancellor Donde Plowman, president of the SEC Executive Committee, tells ESPN the league will enforce its rules regarding NFL players trying to return to college.
"We are prepared to defend our rules and our authority to defend our rules."
On LSU.
"They were in the room when the vote was taken on the penalties. So they know."
And this is supposed to change what exactly.
LSU knowing the penalties were discussed does not mean LSU agreed those penalties remain enforceable after a court restrained the SEC from using them. LSU abstained from the penalty vote, the SEC has already said it will comply with the TRO, and LSU is apparently checking with SEC compliance every day before it does anything.
Plowman is obviously free to defend the rule in court. That is what courts are for. But saying LSU knew about a rule does not somehow make a court order disappear.
The more interesting part to me is that we keep hearing these conversations are membership led and not SEC driven, while the person now publicly speaking for "the league" is literally the chair of the SEC presidents and chancellors and president of the SEC Executive Committee.
So what exactly is the distinction supposed to be.
If the SEC is restrained, then the same SEC member institutions getting together and trying to accomplish the same result through expulsion, probation or a coordinated boycott does not magically become unrelated conduct because Sankey was not sitting in the room.
Maybe they ultimately have a legal argument. Fine. Make it Thursday.
But this idea that changing who sits at the head of the table somehow changes what fifteen SEC institutions acting collectively are doing seems like some pretty incredible mental gymnastics.
Starting to feel like this is more political and theres too much water under the bridge.

lol at Tennessee thinking they are worth something. They last won anything worth a frick in football in 1998. 28 years in the desert being bama and LSUs bitch in football. Also the pathetic Vols have never been to a final four. They are a has been program in the sec and their little flame of hope in baseball died when Tony V would rather spend his days in San Francisco than in Knoxville.

Not sure why they keep trying to flex. LSU has already said more than once that they will follow the rules the SEC enforces.
This is between the players and the SEC, not LSU. How can you reach the level of President and/or Chancellor and not comprehend this?

Well if they rule in the players favor on Thursday there isn't a damn thing she or the sec can do. If they attempt to punish LSU for abiding by a court order, LSU might end up owning the SEC. They know this though, this is literally a democrat practice of trying to fear monger.

If the players win in court, the SEC can do jack shite about it.
If the players lose in court, they won’t play and Lane has already said LSU will follow the courts decision.

It's absurd they are crying this hard over eligibility.
Ferris State was not okay lying about Chambliss not playing due to a medical issue. They actually said it was due to, "developmental needs and our team's competitive circumstances"
It took a Mississippi judge with Ole Miss connections to say he could play.
Where is the uproar over that? In fact it seems even LSU had concerns they would even be able to get him eligible had he transferred.
Why can't these people see this is a one time issue that should be made right for these specific players seeking eligibility. They are also not seasoned vets.
