Josh Downs is the future of the D-Line.

BTW how did Downs get in and not Davenport?

i watched the ou game the other night and loved seeing our corners up in their faces at the line. anyone expecting that from chavis is gonna be unhappy but i think our defense will get better. best we can hope for is a slightly better pelini defense i guess.

crowton called a nice second half IMO. first half kinda had "les meddling with the offense" written all over it but i dunno. if vandy does this next game i will def. be concerned, i was actually really surprised at how gassed our guys were on defense.

after seeing the second half, i feel better about the offense, for sure.

We get the pick 6 instead of the other team.

Pass rush is weak. DE's fail to contain on sweeps. offensive line blocking was poor at times.
Punting was bad. JJ managed the game did some good things. Did not hurt team with turnovers or bad decisions.

J Lee did NOT throw a pick six.

Umm..how about JJ with a QB rating of 186.7. I mean, shite. The kid is 19 years old. How about Toliver looking strong as hell. He put on some weight and is looking like a serious NFL prospect WR already. We definitely had some problems on D, but we're only going to see another QB like Locker one more time this season when UF comes to Death Valley. Also, we put up 31 points with a vanilla offense. Not too shabby. I think we're going to have a good season.

The defense can get pressure if they don't over pursue. The key is getting the de's to contain rather than take horrible angles to a pretty quick qb

He is the fastest qb we will face all year. Defense was so vanilla it's kind of hard to get an idea about what they can do. They did shut down UW in the second half. That last td doesn't mean shite. It was garbage time and they knew it.
Both units were very basic tonight. I doubt they got past the second page of the playbook.

to set up what i thought was good, i have to say i was very disappointed in Crowton's play calling. uw's game plan was to stop our inside running game and they did. we kept going to it though and was very unsuccessful. the perimeter was open and when we took it (like the first two offenseive plays we had) we were successful. i thought crowton was blind tonight. now to what i thought was good, the team hung in there and when crowton called some decent plays, we mixed it up, executed and scored. i hope crowtons excuse was his ignorance of the competition because he is as frigging stupid as he was tonight, we are gonna have trouble this year. the last thing i saw good was a hustling D. 3rd and long, however, scares the absolute shite outa me. i thind the ut fans were right about chavis; he sucks on 3rd and long.

You did play a school from the Pac-10? So I would not take much from this game - every team in the Pac-10 sucks.

Mostly agree, but the offense actually put up 24 points (the other 7 coming on Cutrera's INT.).

chris hawkins did well too

He made one good pass break-up.
Hawkins was getting owned by the reciever he was on all night...how many times should he have made the sideline tackle instead of somebody else 15 yds further downfield? it seemed everytime they scrambled, screened or ran on his side, he was being blocked by one guy and couldn't shed the block to make a stop of 2 or less yards from scrimmage..dissapointed in how he played.

Vanilla Offense....par for the season opener year after year.

DL over-pursued

DB left too much cushion.

ST needs much improvement...but still played decent

In all the whole team looked tired...not easy to adjust to the time zone difference that quickly

2500 miles from home and the longest road trip ever for an LSU Football Team.

by the way who the hell is Patrick Patterson?
