Going for it in your own red zone, down by 11 is complete idiocracy with 8:00 on the clock. Defense was playing good. Plenty of time left for multiple drives then chances for a turnover, etc and there’s so many chances to win the game.

Kiffin coaches like he’s playing Madden on a PlayStation which is prob why he’s never won anything in his career other than likes on social media.

Kiffin was burned by Baker's defense in big games twice this season. Kiffin did not want the defense back on the field to give up another score. CLK was desperate to try to score.

I would not say that. In the previous three possessions the defense had given up an east TD drive to allow Alabama to retake the lead after LSU jumped ahead and grabbed the momentum. The defense had also given up a quick 1 play TD in the prior possession to make it a 24-13 game.

That said, there was still 8 minutes to go and it was only an 11 point game. Ideal? No. Of course you did not want to punt there because you felt Alabama had all of the momentum (they did). But you have to assess the situation. The odds of you getting a 4th and 10 were low. Particularly since you had struggled to convert on 4th down all day. Punt the ball. There is a better chance the defense gets you the stop you need and, with an offense bult to go fast, maybe you can cut it to a 1 score game (3 or 8) with 4-5 minutes still left on the clock

It was a desperation give up by a frustrated coach.

Normally I would say you're right. But it felt like if we punted again the game was over. Don't think it mattered.

The game was 13-10 with 18 minutes to go. They played great. Offense caused much of the issues for the defense. Leavitt is horrible

On one of Sam’s sacks it almost looked like he threw himself on the ground.

It was asinine. 8:00 minutes. This isn’t the NFL and a whole lot can happen esp when at home. Get a big turnover, a holding call on Bama to kill a drive and cause a 3 and out, anything…. to regain momentum and have a chance to win.

Kiffin’s low, very low percentage call pretty much took us from prob having a 38-40% chance of winning to 0%. It was basically buying a lottery ticket and hoping for the best which is a horrible coaching approach with a lot of game left.

It was embarrassing how easy it was for Bama to score in the red zone.BBs play calling sucked,no one near the scorer and we looked like crap in the red zone ,couldn’t do shite.

He needs to hold open tryouts for a new punter ASAP, the guy we have cannot be trusted.

I’m all for getting points and playing field position. I have never supported a 4th down try unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Maybe it wouldn't have mattered in the long run. But allowing them to run up the score at the end was a complete embarrassment.

Maybe keep the score respectable and you might improve your odds ever so slightly that you could still be considered.

if you're coaching decisions are based on something that your defensive coordinator has done, rather than what you think is best for the team in the moment, then you really shouldn't be coaching at all. If he's actually doing that, he's out guessing himself as a coach, which is why he's losing big games.

Kiffin did not give up. He gave the team a chance to execute a play and take back momentum.

The team did not execute.
