TDG Blocking was much improved

After rewatch I have to go give TDG his props. Everyone parroted the same line that he was only a WR and TE in name only.
He got after a few Clemson guys in the blocking game and even came out of stance in line as a TE and got nasty with some guys.
He clearly wanted to prove something in that regard.
Coaching and perspective goes a long way, but he is bought in and it’s glorious to see.

Green looked to be a very lean but strong guy. Last year he never looked like he could seal an edge.
He was doing work all night blocking and catching. He clearly bought in to the new SC program.

Speaking of blocking I noticed the RanTards haven't mentioned Davis. He held that RT spot down.

He was constantly looking for someone to hit. He's becoming the total package complete TE.

Blocking is a lot of want to. Loved the effort. That is going to pay off for him in the long run.

Davis looked pretty good, I think he had a couple of misses but nothing nearly as bad or as sad as what we saw last year. The oline and dline both looked stronger in game 1 than at anytime during the BK era.
Improved SC program plus real oline coaching makes a pretty big difference. BK was never known for having teams that were going to come in and stuff your arse in a locker. Kiffin and Savage have returned us to being bullies. BK just was never going to have the proper attitude, he wanted to make LSU in choir boys on and off the field.

Green really put himself out there and blocked hard this game
64.4 run block grade is pretty good for a TE, especially an undersized one around 235-240 range at his height.
For reference most TEs have lower run blocking grades. Out of 37 SEC TEs last season who had at least 100 graded run block snaps; 64.4 would have placed 8th of those 37

Mentioned that to my boys during the game. Much improved in the blocking area.

I question how PFF gets some of there run blocking grades.
