Point is it does matter. I watched the ending. LSU was not set before the play and you had a player that slammed his helmet to the ground while the ball was still live.

Take it but don't try to justify it.

Bu that makes all the Tenn sidelines, including the childish jumping jack coach, in violation of entering the field.

Any and all penalties that happened after the play, Tenn on the field and LSU thorwing helmets, would have resulted in offsetting violations.

The illegal participation would not have been part of the offsetting penalties because it is the only on that happened BEFORE the play ended!

Why don't you go somewhere else and try to explain your own team barely showing up yesterday.

It looked like the running back was shifting, not in motion mind you, while the ball was snapped.

As long as hs is moving prarallel to or away from the LOS he is ok as I understand it.

With your helmet slamming logic by LSU players shouldn't the officials have penalized UT players fir running out over to the eye. Then since they would not listen to LSU Coach standing in the middle it took and entourage of cops to move them out. So do we get a flag here for taunting?? Off setting maybe??

What goes around comes around, 1959 Cannon did not score when he clearly did and it cost LSU another NC, except this time it was the correct call.

My God are people STILL trying to blindly make THIS argument?

You had TWO UT players, #21 and #74 that were running onto the field BEFORE the LSU guy threw his helmet. Hell, the #21 dude was no more than 4 or 5 yards from the guys fighting for the fumble.

And that is just the guys you can see in the screen. I'm certain there was a whole bunch more UT players running on the field that we couldn't see.

Oh, definitely. They had 13 guys SET on the field. Honestly, quite embarrassing for both squads. Sheesh...

I just pity our D. I can't even imagine how much more amazing they could be if our offense could score some freakin' points.

First of all, JJ carried the ball just outside the 1-yr line. That is where the play would have started.

I watched the play 100 times and LSU was clearly set and did not move early.

Yes, Hebert removed his helmet before the play was over, but Tennessee also had at least two players and several coaches running onto the field before Hebert removed his helmet. So that penalty in addition to the illegal participation penalty would have clearly offset Hebert's penalty. The play would have been replayed from the 1 yard line.

So don't come on hear with your guessing.

and the irony is it was the crew headed by Marc Curles, that was suspended by the SEC last yr.

You can probably pencil in at least 3 of those as losses

Perhaps, but we heard the same before the 07 NCG and we all know how that turned out.
