Taking a closer look at our Analysts

I didn’t realize Paul Turner was back at LSU, listed as a Sr. Offensive Analyst.
Spot must have opened up with the temporary movements to replace Jimmy Lindsey as DL coach. (Jancek moved from ST to DL & Diaco moves from def analyst to ST coordinator & LB coach)
We have 13 analysts - 7 offense, 5 defense, & 1 ST.
Dean Petzing, Sr. Offensive Analyst
John McDonell, Sr. Offensive Analyst
Terry Malone, Sr. Offensive Analyst
Trent Miles, Sr. Offensive Analyst
Paul Turner, Sr. Offensive Analyst
Steve Demeo, Graduate Assistant - Off
Curtis Fitch, Graduate Assistant - Off
Kynjee’ Cotton, Sr. Defensive Analyst
Eddie Hicks, Sr. Defensive Analyst
Justin Roberts, Sr. Defensive Analyst
Nick Coleman, Graduate Assistant - Def
Zac Jancek, Graduate Assistant - Def
Lester Erb, Sr. Special Teams Analyst
ETA: updated to 13.
Justin Roberts has been added as a Sr. Defensive Analyst. He was in the team pic, so I assume he’s been there all camp.

They keep them in the system, when they lose a coach, one can get moved up.

Lester Erb is keeping the seat warm for Coach Chris. The comeback will be epic

Read this as "Lester Earl" for a second and wondered, "the basketball player or the TD poster?"
Now I'm wondering which would be worse?

How much do these analysts make?

It’s likely anywhere from $25k-$85k depending on experience, if you got a buyout from previous employer, etc.
Terry Malone was the long time OL/TEs coach with saints.

Are there any requirements/restrictions on salary for these positions?
I find it hard to believe Saban has Ken Whisenhunt, Charlie Strong, & Derek Dooley on his staff for <$100k

Zach Mettenberger is an offensive analyst for Bama? Wtf
Posted on 8/15/23 at 6:53 pm to lsu for the win
This is his 2nd year with them. Didn’t realize Saban and his father-in-law (Whisenhunt) were buddies, that’s prob how he got the job in the first place.

Ahhh makes sense. Thanks

I’m sure it’s all up to what Alabama wants to pay. Charlie strong got paid $13m to not coach Texas and USF. Probably got another $1m from Jaguars and The U.

Can anyone identify this old fella?
He’s in the team picture with the other 12 analysts, but not sure who he is.
Left to right looks like:
Hicks, Cotton, ? , Jancek, Coleman

Justin Roberts - Sr. Defensive Analyst
I don’t know his full coaching history or his connection to BK/LSU, but he’s been a DL/LB coach & DC over the years. Most recently the DC at Tennessee State (I believe).

Why not? Being in the Saban coaching tree gets you in pretty much any door in college football.

This the same QB from West Monroe that Les didn’t do shite with?
Posted on 8/24/23 at 2:33 pm to PhillyTiger90
Yep, Frank Wilson always liked him & think that’s exactly why he is back at LSU.
He eventually transferred to Tech & had a pretty good career as a WR. Was working as an analyst there until recently

Kelly wins the natty we can become a second choice for the reforming coaches party that they have at Bama. You go there and learn under Nick it is like coaching rehab.

This is a joke, right? Terry Saban is 10 years older than Ken Whisenhunt and her maiden name was Constable. Terry Saban Bio
