dont think so. there were renderings of it, which is probably the same thing that guy is talking about. they may have just decided to move the location.

I agree with the idea that they shouldn't be there.

Some of you bitching seemed to expect no traffic at all. That's not realistic. The side streets leaving campus will have heavy traffic. There is simply no way to avoid that. The point of the traffic/parking changes was to get everyone out of the small area around Tiger Stadium as fast as possible.

Get out of here with that logic.

what is wrong with people tailgating and not going to the game?

I have a family and cant set a tailgate up, party all day, break it down in time to go to the game, then spend an arm and a leg to get in.

I'd just assume hang out and drink beer and watch it on the satellite. who is that hurting?

I usually pay the $40 to park by the parade grounds too.

We still have no idea how effective the new plan was. Not sure what logic you think the guy was bringing.

Traffic was flowing better than it ever has on Nicholson.

Only delay I had was when a campus cop blocked a lane when trying to turn into Skip Bertman, which was closed. I sat through 3 lights before going around him. Looked to me like parking was still allowed along Nicholson, except for the medians. Tailgating was down a good bit, probably due to the weather. Traffic was the lightest I've encountered - but I got on campus around 1. We'll see how things are when the big boys come to town.

has anyone seen a MAP with the campus flow outlined on it?

I got caught in a clusterF*** on campus trying to get to Acadian...

hey BRPD, if you don't control the Perkins/Acadian intersection, everything else is worthless in that corridor...

I found there were a lot of people that showed up early to tailgate (for a weak game) but the overall number of people tailgating was down ...

the OLD front 9 lot was closed on the NIcholson EXT side at 8:am due to wet conditions. they finally opened it up again. Nicholson itself was a ghost town. I left around 5pm and there were only a few tents up. LSU has killed the greatest thing we had going, the buzz around campus was crap. Miss St. will be the first real test, but Bama will be a ClusterF of epic proportion.

that was a really weird decision too. it wasnt that wet. And it wasnt really more wet than the area of the front nine they kept open.

What more do you need to know? There was a freaking State Police helicopter flying around reviewing the flow of traffic. The police in charge of traffic called the changes a "success" on Saturday.

I agree. So you're saying the big shots watching tv in their RV spots should not be there if they don't go to the game? People can do what they want.

plenty. contraflow was the police's idea to begin with. I'll take their comments with a grain of salt. It didnt seem too bad to me on nicholson but definitely need to hold out judgment for a game that isnt a blowout at halftime.

You should never go to Acadian. Take the side streets if you must get on Stanford, then get on Perkins that way. Best bet is try to get down closer to College/Lee. If you're trying to get on the interstate, take the Congress Blvd shortcut. Saves a ton of time.

I'll agree that there should be police working Perkins right there though. They did last year.

I agree it will be a bigger test once we have a huge game that goes down to the wire. However, my point was, other than word of mouth from friends and your own experience, the only even semi-reliable information you are going to get regarding post-game traffic is going to come from the police.

How it works when 80k people leave at once instead of scattered form halftime to the end of the game.

And you really dense enough to think they would come out and say their plan didn't work?
