T or F: Our ability to recruit TX is more important than keeping a few away from Bama?

Just comparing numbers on rosters of LA players on bama roster (11 i think it was) to bama players on our roster (5 maybe).

Then looking at tx players on bama (12 maybe) and TX players on LA roster and we're over 20 + and a few pretty elite.

Is it true that our continued ability to recruit Houston and other areas of TX very well is more important than keeping the 2 to 4 elite LA prospects away from Bama?

Do we focus to much on those 2 guys we lose to the state each year is essentially what i'm getting to.

Was just coming to post this. I think that part of the success for recruiting is, not only getting the kids you want, but keeping the kids you want away from your rivals.

Very difficult to build a true wall around the state and not get poached by the best coach of college football history at the most historic program.

But the ability to poach from one of the most talent rich states in the country that is our neighbor is critical. TX being down over the years has helped tremendously and its critical that this ability is continued also to note Jimbo joining A&M now.

I wouldn’t say it’s “more important” but it’s a significant factor in keeping the roster stocked with talent at all positions. It’s just unrealistic to think any team can just hand pick the recruits they want, Bama comes close but even they miss out on many.

Using your train of thought, when Jimbo gets shite rolling, our ability to cherry pick out of Texas will be limited. If we do not solidify LA, we will ultimately be fighting for 2nd/3rd place.

If we lock up Louisiana and have Gump like success in texas, we cut the lifeblood from the Gump program and we fight for 1st/2nd.

We’ve done a good of replacing La.kids lost w Tx kids gained. Net is even. It’s very seldom the talent level is far apart.

If we lock up Louisiana and

our ability to battle A&M and Texas over some TX prospects is probably easier than the battle with a few LA kids that want to go to Saban/bama dynasty.

Noboby is paying attention but since Coach O has been LSU HC Saban and Bama has been shut down. Take for example last year Nick and his cronies came after LSU committed kids hard and came away with nothong. Alabama got I think 2 kids that wasn't high on the Tigers radar the CB and a APB. Whatever COach O is doing seems to be working and LSU will always recruit Texas well because that's our second biggest fan base to Louisiana. GEAUX TOGERS!!!!!!!PURPLEREIGN!!!!!!!

We are far better than “net even” replacing the players Bama has gotten from LA with players from TX. The only player that Saban got out of LA that hurt us really bad was Cam Robinson because our O line was very thin on talent. Almost all the others would have been significant contributors, but in every other case we had someone as good and usually better. Phillips is a much better all around player than Moses and Adams was better than Collins. The big question in those instances is if the player we ended up with would have come here if we hadn’t lost the LA player to Bama?

Definitely both but if we locked down OUR state consistently every year we wouldn't need to RELY on Texas recruits saving our asses
