This Arizona coach certainly is no Jay Johnson.

At least he's doing the program Jay built a little bit of justice by being in the supers.

I think that side of the bracket is being underrated. Louisville might be turning a corner. OSU FSU and UNC have lots of talent. This is one of the better Coastal teams. And auburn has been underrated all year.
I really like Coastal Carolina but I always like rooting for the underdog. I think UNC makes the final but I’ll be pulling for coastal on that side.

Got a revenge factor going with them too if they were to make it, finally get a shot at payback with them after they kept us from Omaha in that BR Super in 2016

ETA Jay would like the opportunity to do that too I’m sure. He said in one of his PCs one time that he believes his Arizona team should’ve won that CWS final in 2016 against Coastal if they had had the replay reviews then. Forgot exactly what play he was referring to but he believes he got cheated out of the title against them that year

Did that Zona pitcher just throw up at the end of the last inning?

Wow, after 3 innings of the first game in a super regional you are already putting UNC in the CWS final - ha ha. Can’t argue.

Total side question: is Coastal the last non-Power 5 team to win a championship in the big three sports? I mean, Houston made the b-ball final this year and lost but man, what a string those roosters had that year

Fwiw, Houston is in a power 5 conference now (big 12). Although, I'm not sure I'd consider the big 12 a power conference now.

Not a big deal, but I wonder why they have Auburn playing the late game instead of Oregon State. Both appear to be legit "primetime" match-ups. Why make Auburn play an 8:00 local time game?

You people do know Arizona won a national championship a few years before Jay got there right?

They did, but they weren't a consistent power either. In the 7 years before Jay was hired, they had 1 season with 40+ wins, 1 season making it past the regional round (both their natty year in 2012), and missed the postseason completely in 4 years including the last 3 preceding Jay.

They went 36-54 in the Pac 12 the 3 years before Jay.

Gallaher is still a monster I see, dude killed it last year

They might be a more well rounded team without Honeycutt

I really hate how some players are so confident about challenges and telling their coach to challenge it only to see the replay and that they were clearly wrong.

That last one was way too close for that dude to be so confident about it. They even showed him saying something along the lines of "I'm safe, my foot was there first" or whatever it was.
