Mitchell has been thrown out or picked off I believe 5 times in the regionals the last two weeks. Hopefully, these plays will start turning in his favor.

I agree; it was the coaches and if not, it gives them the chance to teach these freshmen a thing or two without it costing us a game.

I hope we learned some lessons this weekend from all the errors and poor base running so we don't repeat the same mistake in the CWS when mistakes like these will definitely cost us games.

coach needs to remind the baserunner on a ball hit to the left side, to stay put. Esp a freshman.

Prob was a green light from Mainieri, but either way it was a horrible call unless Mitchell ran on his own. Could be, because the guy on 1st didnt go.

ref on third needs glasses, those calls were horrible, both Mahtook and Mitchell were safe, he just called them out because the guy just caught it and swiped at them and that was good enough for him.

Mitchell

Was not safe. I played it frame by frame on my DVR. He was close, but still 10ish inches from the bag when the tag was applied.

mitchell was out, Mahtook was prob safe but when the ball beats him the ump usually calls the guy out. Not to mention it was stupid baserunning.

how is what i said, ignorant?

1)he makes the 2nd out at 3rd base, when he can easily score on any hit to the OF

2)the runner on 1st didnt even move up into scoring position

whoever was responsible for it, it was a horrible call. he had a bad jump as well. In that situation the only way you go is if you are 100% sure you get in

Come on really?? Thats something you learn in 9&10 baseball. You shouldn't have to remind a baseball player who has been playing the game for 10+ yrs to hold when hit to the SS. I guess Sanchez needs to remind him to freeze on a line drive after every pitch as well. That one and the JM steal are NOT on the 3rd base coach.

It's not your fault LEster. YOu simply dont know much about baseball.

You dont make the 1st or 3rd outs at 3rd. Why do you make a point about it being the 2nd out?

And if you think it was horrible for the fastest man in college baseball to try to take third with 1 out while a right handed batter is up...then you really are a lost cause.
