it’s hard to ask students that aren’t die hard football fans to stay and watch an absolute blowout
I've seen people, and not just students, leaving SEC rivalry games with the outcome still in doubt. You can find all kinds of excuses, but the bottom line is it's a social event for a lot of people and they don't have much interest in the actual contest.

Isn’t Bama currently implementing some sort of system to track student attendance that’s very similar to what you described
Yes. It’s app based. Apparently other schools already use this. The time spent at the event will be used in awarding bowl game tickets.

The kind of people leaving a game probably aren't going to give a shite about bowl tickets.

I agree, and it’s dumb af. i love LSU and football way too much to leave any game at halftime. i’m just saying not everyone has the same passion most of us on here have

Alabama and other teams are going to do just that this year. Instead of card swipe while exiting, they will use location tracking and geo-fencing.

to be fair, the students weren’t the only ones leaving at halftime. But as a student that has never left a game early (except Bama last year - left after they went up 29-0) I do like your idea for a swipe in swipe out system

Y’all wring your hands too much about this shite. People have better things to do than sweat their asses off to watch LSU’s backups run out the clock vs GA Southern.
F@cking pussy. You think the players sweat just a little more all Spring, Summer and game night to perform for a bunch of douches that can’t stay 3 hours?

But from a fire Marshall standpoint it's probably not legal and it would take forever to leave the stadium if they did that.
If a fire breaks out, we’ll make an exception.
P.S. marshal has one L.

42-3 at half, half the stadium leaves, but muh students are the worst!

The answer is that college kids will always leave a blowout football game because they’re in college and they’re going to party. This is really not difficult to figure out

Damn I never thought of that. Maybe THAT will convince thousands of college students who are trying to get hammered and/or laid to watch every minute of a 60 point victory over a directional school.

Stay until the end, avoid the traffic jam

the student section is different than even when I started school in ‘10, but for big games it’s still the heartbeat of the stadium. and for those, the sidelines still thin out after halftime. much bigger deal IMO

I agree though that someone needs to see why these kids leave like that now.
It’s called partying and having sex. I don’t know what else to tell y’all.
Brad: “Really curious to see in this second half whether or not devonte lee can transition to play wide receiver at this level or if he’s better suited to play defense.”
Chloe: “Brad, come on we’re going to meet Alexis and Madison at Bogie’s.”

Frankly, it is no one's business when someone else enters or leaves.
This is not a DICTATORSHIP.
Use normal marketing methods...
Maybe give FREE something coupons (worth the effort) for those leaving AFTER there are only 5 min left in 4th qtr ... some may stay if worth it.
Maybe a free beer coupon for next game.
...and they will likely lose the coupon anyway.

I’m a guy that stays the whole game.
I also understand it was 42-3 at the Half and it was a very hot Saturday

I graduated undergrad 11 years ago, but I'll take a crack at this. When I was a student...
There were enough for every sophomore-senior that wanted them, and freshmen entered a raffle.
Tickets costed $12 per home game. I forget what away games were.
Yes, of course.
Can't answer as worded. I never went in the stadium until right before kickoff so I wouldnt care about your incentive. If we left early it was always to go to one of the Tigerland bars. Offer drink specials or free pizza to anyone who stays the entire game. That'll do it for sure.

I saw the end of the Texas game and the stadium was pretty full late in the game.
