I do not know much about Georgia (except for the obvious ones) this season. Can someone with a good amount of knowledge of this team please elaborate on their strengths and weaknesses. Feel free to compare them to those of LSU. Thanks in advance!

Bottom tier SEC defense with a great QB and a great RB. Their O-line is okay.

Is their defense really that weak? How did they hang with Clemson and almost win and why are they ranked so high if that is the case?

Very much mirrors our team. Solid offense, o line, deep backfield, senior QB. Their issues is in run D and giving up big plays in the pass. Mixed bag of unproven, young LB'ers and db's. Clemson and USC could run on them. N Tx had guys in position for some big O plays, but pulled a N Tx. They also held Gurley in check. I do believe UGA was sleepwalking & looking ahead a bit. They still had quite a few breakdowns on O,D, & special teams that would alarm me as u dawg fan.

Their O line is not solid at all. It's their weak spot on offense. Ego Ferguson will probably have a field day.

Their defense, as stated, is ranked near the bottom of the league. Their offense, near the top. It's really not that simple though.

Gurley, in an additional game and 1/2, has 20 yds more than Hill, and 2 fewer TDs. Murray has about 20 yds more passing than Mett, with fewer TDs.

Despite what you may have read on here and elsewhere, our defense is rated near the top of the league, and theirs is a lower tier SEC defense.

Hope that helps, but it don't mean much in an SEC road game.

I'm with Higgins, I think we are very similar. I think this will be a high scoring game, praying Zach has a chip on his shoulder to outplay Aaron statistically.
If that happens, I think we win. Our RB's are about even, I just think we need to keep Hilliard and Blue out of the rotation (wasted plays unfortunately) and let ZM and Hill pass and pound away until they soften then run McGee off the corners.

Just remember they have playd much better competition. I believe they will sell out to stop the run and make Mett beat them. We will need at least mid 30's to win this one.

our D is better than their D. O's are a wash. i actually think LSU has a slight edge. Chavis will be able to contain.

you know mett has been dreaming of this day for years. when he settles down, and he will, i like LSU's chances.

Slight disagreement Coonass, I agree your D has an edge but feel UGA has the offensive edge. LSU has a definite STs edge offset by Georgia's home field advantage. Looks like a very good matchup that could go either way...close, high scoring game. Of all the SEC teams, LSU is the one that concerns me the most. While both will lay it all out this Saturday, this game will not keep either from making it to Atlanta for the SECCG. A rematch there in December seems very likely.

LSUs recievers >> UGA recievers
LSU Oline >> UGAs Oline
QB and RB are close to a wash

Both defenses are suspect. Although UGA is more talented on defense IMO. But they are consistently one of the most underachieving / worst technique defenses in CFB.

While you're correct in your assessment, our offense as a whole operates better than LSU's from what I've seen. Our play calling has been flawless as we put our players in great position to make plays, as is evident by our numbers.

While playin tougher opponents to start the season.

On O I would think UGA is going to try and get Murray involved early with short quick passes and still run the ball. DL for LSU will have to be able to make a impact early I think.

On D I would expect UGA to sell out to take the run away from LSU and make LSU prove they will and can throw on the road in a hostile environment.

Certainly going to be LSU's toughest challenge to this point. Could be a even match that comes down to special teams. UGA had issues Saturday vs UNT but hard to judge vs those type of teams.

Might need a big ST play for LSU to win it though, UGA seems to be hangin their hat in the fact they've played two pretty solid teams so far, which could be a edge for them
