Strange that CBK doesn't seem to be catching much criticism

LSU is way ahead of schedule and I'm thrilled with the job he's done but the team was not prepared to play and we got out-schemed badly on both sides of the ball. Some players made some really bad mistakes Saturday but we also got out-coached by a mile.

I think the lack of depth upfront finally caught up to us

What would you criticize him for? Be specific.

He said it. Being ahead of schedule and not preparing the guys for the tamu game.

More than one thing can be true for most people who can process more than one thing at a time.

You nullified the entire point of your thread in the first sentence dude.

He was not out coached. The players were put in place. They got beat. aTm OL was pushing the LSU DL 3 and 5 yards down the field on every run play. Their freshman QB was making very accurate throws and their WRs were making contested catches.

It happens against good talent sometimes. Remember aTm almost beat bama at bama. They just put it all together last Saturday night. LSU caught them at the wrong time.

We throw out the sentence not to prepared to play way too much. Every loss is the “coaches didn’t have the team ready to play.” Maybe the other team was simply better at what they were trying to do, maybe they were more fired up (a coach can give the best pregame speech possible but it doesn’t mean the players will play at 110%), maybe players had an off night. Sometimes you just don’t win the game you thought you would.

39 scholarships, no depth, all new players, first year…..playing in the SEC championship game. I have no criticism of CBK

Specifically - in our game plan for Saturday. On offense, the route combos were taking far too long to develop, we didn't run the ball enough especially in the first half and especially on QB designed runs (even though Cain and Emery had success early).

On defense, our LBs and ends kept crashing inside and all they had to do was run outside for huge gains, we didn't appear to change our approach on pressuring the QB, and our zone coverage had giant gaps.

On both sides, there was low energy and halftime adjustments seemed minimal (especially compared to previous games).

Bottom line, I don’t think anyone believes we are ready for the CFP stage. Could we play lights out and upset Georgia, sure in a one game scenario.

This team has way over exceeded expectations. Losing to aTm really doesn’t change winning the west and going to the SEC ship.

Nobody thinks we’re a national champion so the loss wasn’t a huge let down.

Good example was the 2007 loss to Arky. Huge let down because we were riding a wave to the NC. Still made it luckily. This loss didn’t really change the overall outcome of the season.

He's done a very good job in total, he did not do a great job Saturday. I know it's a challenging concept.

Then why is it strange that Coach Brian Kelly doesn’t seem to be catching much criticism?

The only thing I'm concerned about with him is his QB preference type. I believe it's cost him on the past and it concerns me going forward. Les2.0 in terms of QB.

Too long to develop and not enough JD running? Lol

He had all day most of the time. Plays were there, JD just isn't good enough to execute them unless busted coverage then he throws it. He ran enough. Emory should have run more.

Run first, pass when needed. See jj under Les.

Who would you prefer him to play? Jayden is by far the best option considering the talent on campus. Every opportunity Nuss got he failed to produce. Until CBK can recruit and groom his guy this is all we have.

For his skill set, CBK has coached up Jayden tremendously.
