For the life of me I don't understand why we didn't run a spread option offense like this in the open field and then switch to a more power orientated offense when we hit the 30's and the field shortened up

Switching between spread and power...I think that's what the Wizard was trying to do.

I guess, but it didn't look that way, splits were too short in the spread parts, lots of 7, 8 and 9 man fronts, power game without a proper full back, hardly any play action. Screens were always sniffed out too early(which used to be the play LSU ran better than anyone else in cfb). I call what he did a mess.

+1
It seemed the OL is too small to run power, and I dont know if they ever found a FB they liked. With this personnel, the spread seems like it should have been the better formation.

you act like he can't get bigger, stronger or better as a football player. For christ's sakes' the kids barely 18 years old.

Yeah sure and it's even better that he bleeds purple and gold. I'm surprised LSU was the only school to offer him a shot at QB. Has he really gottebn that shot?

LSU was not the only school to offer him a shot at QB. Most schools offered him a shot at QB but Texas did not

Florida offered him as a QB

"If the coaches worked with him for a significant period of time doing the right things, I think he is smart enough and composed enough to be a pocket passer with the option to pass first and run second if it's there."

And see what his passes can bring to the running game. He never was allowed to do that!! Wow!

I dont believe shite this staff says about a QB. according to Crowton or Miles we need a natural John Brady to win, god forbid if you actually have to coach a kid. This is a staff that was running Shep of tackle against Alabama, WTF!!!
Face it Crowton and Miles know nothing of QBs.

Those passes have to be digitally altered. He always looked like he was throwing wounded ducks during pregame warmups.

Broke a lot of arm tackles, outran a lot of slow safeties. I think he's an amazing player, but we can't expect him to perform like that here. Especially early. That said, I think he breaks out next year.

They aren't, we just have 2 coaches, Miles and Crowton, who don't know how to coach QB's.
