Ahh, nothing like the good ole LSU/Tulane rivalry in the 60s/70s/80s from a "bad blood" perspective. Too bad the series expired for various reasons.

I know that Cilly's (at the time in '84), later the Tiger, etc., used to show the replay of the fight on their big screen all the time. Talk about getting a place full of drunks all riled-up.

Connect the video output on a VHS player to the video input of a DVD recorder. For this you'll need an A/V cable - either Scart, or a cable with composite video and RCA (phono) audio connectors.

You could also find a cheap vhs/dvd combo recorder.

That one is $89.99 at Walmart. Sounds like you might have a good use for it, other than this one instance.

Walmart online

I was sitting on the 20, Westside about 15 rows up. Had a great vantage point of the entire fight. I recall Rehage being involved. Dude was crazy!

I was sitting in the north end zone handicap section and all of the EBR sheriff's deputies were in front of the student section. At that time, the students had sideline seats around the to the goal line or so. The fight starts and then you see about 10-20 sheriff deputies running across the field trying to stop the fight. If you had timed it, the best 40 time for those deputies would have been 12-15 second time range.

Let's hope you didn't record over it with an episode of Home Improvement.

In all seriousness - be a legend

I was a student and in the stadium also. I remember little pockets of fights breaking out on various parts of the field. Put one fire out and another would pop up. I distinctly recall one of our guys had a Tulane player with his back bent over the South end zone fence wailing away at him. A spectacle to be sure.

To the posters who have the game on VHS, Betamax, 8-millimeter film, etc., quit telling us you have this on tape if you're not going to post a bonafide, genuine, watchable link to the game. There are many, many options to make your product digital. Find one and do it or quit trolling us about what you do and don't have.

It was on the kicking reel of the game film. Offense, defense and kicking reel were the film watched at the time. It was sent to a former coach who had moved to the pros when Coach Arnsparger was hired. I wonder if he still has it! I'm certain LSU has it in their archives. Shawn Burks and Darryl Daye in the South end zone is classic. The surreal moment was when Coach Arnsparger was congratulated by Wally English, security in tow, while delivering his post game victory speech in the tunnel. Can't make this stuff up!

I was there. The thing I remember about that fight was Shawn Burks leveling the Tulane player in the south end zone. Good clean fun. If there is a tape they should have shown it on the big screen at last night's baseball game.
