Still like this team even after these last 2 games

Expected to go 1-2 in Maui. Did not expect to beat Mich, and a win over Chaminade wouldn't tell us much. Clearly a limited group even with Sampson but they showed good mental toughness brushing last night aside and competing at a high level despite another early hole.
Disappointed not to see more organization offensively but Reath being a non factor and no Sampson doesn't help. When we're 100% we can't simplify things, gotta scheme some of these guys into position...Mays on the baseline, Epps top of the key, Waters off the double high. Too stagnant tonight.
Off ball defending is terrible but you'll look for that to improve a bit. Team has a lot of holes talent wise. Should be a bumpy but worthwhile ride.
Happy Thanksgiving comrades

I mean, I still like them too, but they aren’t very good.

How did you expect them to be so good a year removed from the dumpster fire of johnny jones. It takes time and it's so much better now than this time a year ago.

So you’re agreeing with me that they aren’t good.

I don't think Wade coaches much offense outside of inbounds plays. I think they are given freedom to freelance given effort on D. This is going to be Brady redux.
Too many guys helped in the lane and left their man tonight; and it wasn't corrected. I've got major concerns

They are average. Won't make the tournament. Also won't be 3-17 in the sec.
I don't understand your point. Did you expect them to be Kentucky? If so....

True...if JJ was still the head coach they would have lost all 3 games by more than 30... so feel great about the experience they got this tourney and move on...we ridin’.... eventually....

They're not good. But they might not be as bad as we think. Been 5 games. Gotta get better in December.

With Sampson, tonight's game isn't decided until the final minute.

No but do you recall the abortion that was last year’s team/roster ? Just a few games in and it’s worlds better. With what looks to be a great class coming in next year, theres finally light at the end of the tunnel

This team has:
A true scorer in Waters, though you'll have to live and die with him some nights. Healthy Sampson is obviously another big help as a scorer, and has improved defensively.
A competent big in Reath, though his margin for error is so slim being the only big guy.
Nice complementary pieces in Mays and Epps.
A mustang in Kiir. If he can learn to consistently defend off the switches like you saw tonight he'll help some.
Role players need to arrive. Rachal has shown promise. Sims may be our best rebounder. Onwuasor can score. Edwards was billed as a shooter but has struggled. Combs doesn't bring much to the table. This is where we could use some help. Just gonna have to grow one day at a time.

Only unrealistic fans, which we have a lot of, expected them to be good this year.

I’ll be honest, had no idea who the frick Rachal was until the UM game

I’m really bummed we didn’t get to see them with Sampson all three games. That would have been a much better picture of where this team is. They’ll be fun to watch and will give full effort which is all I really care about this year

Pretty much. Wade literally inherited only 2 players that are above average. Sampson & Reath. JJ left him with absolutely zero depth as well. He's started the rebuild, but it won't happen overnight. I have faith in Wade.

When AB opted to go pro, I thought 5 SEC wins tops. Wade since has accelerated a 3-4 year rebuild into two.

Look brothers, we aren't good. We got some skilled players and a good coach. All I can ask is that we grow as the season goes on. And hopefully we get some post season play for the seniors leaving and underclassmen coming back

Well said. I'd like Galen and Mayan to get more playing time. they both physically pass the eye test and while raw look really athletic. LSU has a really weak schedule coming up, so I'm excited those two get to develop. Obviously Rachal and Waters look great early on. these four plus the incoming class?
only two I were disappointed in were Duop and Epps. I'm not sure I heard either name called all night. brutal.

nothing is more hilarious than reading our fan's preseason SEC predictions. it's like people have no idea the conference has quietly been loading up bigly the past three years

This team is putting a good product on the floor going in the right direction you know what to expect night in night out. Last year was a mess a hot mess a disaster the tigers have so much up side.
