I went down a rabbit hole and totaled Milam's career stats for the months of May and June. Hopefully whoever drafts him has minor league teams in warm weather states.

Career Stats:
54 Games
.354 AVG
.466 OBP
11 HR
50 RBI
42 Runs
38 BBs

Breakdown by Season:

2024:
20 Games
.395 AVG
.477 OBP
5 HR
15 RBI
18 Runs

2025:
22 Games
.312 AVG
.448 OBP
2 HR
17 RBI
15 Runs

2026:
12 Games
.357 AVG
.481 OBP
4 HR
18 RBI
9 Runs

TLDR: Milam would be an All American if the season started in May.

This is going to hurt him if he gets drafted by team with a High A club in the Midwest League.

Idk if he just needs a minute to get going, but the good news is that the MLB season is long and many games happen after May1

I don’t think it’s the weather.

Maybe in the winter this offseason he can rent a house in the midwest and get climatized

Milam is better when he sprays the ball around the field. In his last 2 years, he suffered through mid season slumps because he seemed to be trying to swing for power...only to finally adjust later in the year.

They all want to hit for power because it has become a necessity to MLB.

But, those weak fly balls that we suffered through during the middle of the year are tough to watch.

Always gets hot around this time. Don't forget he was a big reason we won several games in CWS especially game 1 against CC.

Yup. OP sees warm weather, I think back half of conference play + postseason baseball. Good to hit well in the games that really matter.
