The number of bama cars at the league office may be in question, but go to any SEC baseball tourney game in Hoover involving bama. Look up at the SEC league suite. At all the red coated...who chose that color for the official League color??... league reps openly cheering for bama. Happens every yr. And that is just baseball. I am not big on conspiracy theories, but when you have any committee meeting on any League issue & over half the attendees are bama alums, do you honestly believe that there is not some bama bias? As strong & loyal as bama alums are to their football program?

I don't know about rotating the offing (moving it to Atlanta permanently maybe), but at least staff it with people from the top-down who come from other regions of the country and have no affiliations with any school that their position could potentially provide unfair advantages to.

Hire West Coast or East Coast or even Midwest graduates to run the conference.

Maybe make a deal with one or more major conferences to trade staff so the new staff would have all the experience with none of the bias or nefarious motives.

Nick Saban was one of the most penalized coaches in the SEC...when at LSU. Even compared with Shula.

I guess the foundation in discipline established by Shula is still helping Bama today.

Rotating would be stupid. I always liked the idea of the SEC offices moving to Atlanta, the talent pool for hiring alone should be reason enough. Plus it is a much more diverse and educated population with it being a large hub type of city.

Birmingham Population: 212,113
Atlanta Population: 447,841

Birmingham Metropolitan Pop: 1,128,047
Atlanta Metropolitan Pop: 5,614,323

He may be a good ref but he lives in Alabama

He doesn't, actually.

Steve Shaw

was actually one of the best and most impartial referees the SEC has ever had... he's called many clean fair games...many of which LSU was part of.

Bug Eyes is the real problem...and that crew we had against Moo State.

Had a discussion with an official about this and you are incorrect.

If you played at certain school you can not call that game.

If you LIVE in that state you can not call a game involving a state team.

If you have any ties whatsoever, previous family member, current, related to booster, related to faculty, child currently or previously you can not.

This has been an SEC rule since the 60's

Tom Ritter is a Mizzou grad. If he is calling games he has no affiliation to Bama WHATSOEVER. If he has a child at Bama he is not calling a Bama game and claiming he does is a false, made statement, said made up by whomever anyway. Now whatever infatuation he might have with Bama, you'd have to ask him but it has nothing to do with any family member attending, playing, giving money to or planning on planning on attending Alabama.

Hubert Owens is a SWAC guy if I'm not mistaken but not entirely sure.

Steve Shaw has called Bama spring games but never called a Bama regular season game and his rep is widely regarded as amoung the best in all of college football.

Then how do you explain the holding calls that aren't called?

How about the Ole Miss game last weekend? the reviews? Gezz....what a train wreck that was...

There is a reason Ritter's last name is used as a verb now. When you tell people we got "Rittered", they know exactly what you are referencing.

I will call BS on that one. I know for fact that over 50% of the SEC officials reside in the state of Alabama. The non Alabama SEC schools have complained about this for years, but little has been done.

Should be co-held by Kentucky and Vanderbilt grads.

This is not true. A good friend was a head ref in SEC in the early 2000's. He has since moved to the Big 12. He officiated LSU games occasionally and lived in St Tammany Parish

Honestly, the real question needs to be, whomever is reviewing all replays at the SEC office during games, WHERE did they graduate and do they live in or near Tuscaloosa?

This must not include basketball, because I went to High School with a basketball official in Baton Rouge, and I have been in the PMAC, when he officiated multiple games.

Also, I am good friends with a baseball official from Gonzalez who is purple and gold all the way. It doesn't affect the way he calls a game because he said when you are zoned in it all about making the right call.

why dont you ask your school president. The school presidents theoretically own the SEC and dictate what they do and what they cant do. IF all of the SEC Prez's dislike the office in Bham they can outvote Bama and AU any day and move it. I dont recall ever seeing this proposal on the yearly meetings. Boy you guys are sure some Gump haters. Cant beat Bams on a regular basis so bitch and moan about refs and where the SEC office is.

All I know is that Tom Ritter was taken off the field mainly due to hostility against LSU and favoritism of the two Alabama teams.

While Ritter officiated games usually had lots of penalties against LSU, one your own debunked the myth that he favored Bama: LINK

This shyt didn't seem to matter when Lsu won like 6 or 7 in a row vs bama. Losing bring out a very weird way of thinking.

Just kick bama's azz.
