That was merely the Chavis blueprint against spread offenses...We have excelled against these teams for years...nothing new

Not sure I get all the Steele hate. One season with guys he didn't recruit and having a totally inept offense that kept the D on the field too long. Plus he didn't check-out and quit coaching the bowl game like Chavis did. What am I missing?

Also I think it has a lot to do with him being close to fully vested with the Alabama state pension situation

I've heard this might have something to do with it...also an al.com article mentioned that Steele's brother works at Auburn, something to do with facilities I think...

Footballscoop posted that LSU is trying to persuade Steele to stay...not sure I'd put much stock in that though...

It seems to me we need to open up a new Message Board called "Rumor Mill" and have people with gossip post there...Wait--this is Tiger Rant (sometimes perceived as "Knee Jerk"), correct?

How are we "looking to retain him"?

I sure don't see him getting an extension.

And surely no extra job security--if Les goes after next season, then Steele needs to be swept out with him.

Les ain't going anywhere, that ship sailed guys. He's here for at the very least 2 more seasons barring some unforeseen losing record next year of course

In all honesty Steele did ok this year but whoever is our d-coordinator next year will have a very talented defense

It usually takes a few years to get a read on a coach.
He didn't have that. Our defense looked better last night than it did all year.
Don't think he's terrible by any means.
If we upgrading then I'm happy.
Chizik defense didn't look great in the bowl game, so who knows.
You just put him on place and see what happens.

Different places and personnel make all the difference to some coaches scheme and success.

Peveto has been coaching the LBs all season long

He also coached LBs prior to the whole Malveto abortion and did quite well. He needs to have his hands way off of ST tho
