In 2019, LSU has blitzed 70 times on 254 pass rushes. That's 27.5% of the time.

In 2016, LSU blitzed 400 times on 1453 pass rushes. That's 27.5% of the time.

LSU finished #10 in total defense in 2016

LSU currently ranks 25th in total Defense, Bama is 36th.

How does that blitz percentage rank vs other D1 teams?

Almost feels like Aranda knows what he is doing.

Are they sending the same weight of defensive players as they did in 2016?
Because that’s what amount means!

In 13 games, the opponents threw the ball 110 times per game???

We could win the ship and some people will still be asking for Aranda's head. Coach O could go for one unsuccessful fourth down and they would say I told you so. There are a lot of trolls and less than average brain posters on the TRant.

The issue is blitz looks or fants. It was obvious we weren't coming when we weren't,and it was obvious we were when we did.

I don't think the problem is the frequency of blitzes. Rather, it's the ineffectiveness of our dline on 3/4 man rushes.

It has always been a problem for ya because we’ve always had basically zero depth and no true nose tackle until now.

We just need to recruit a lot more big bodies.

When you can’t pressure with 3 or 4 you should blitz more often.

Stat doesn't mean anything. LSU defense is soft even against Vandy.

It’s the dline talent/depth

This stat is virtually useless.

How many times did the blitzes get home or pressure the QB? That's the stat you're looking for.

We didn’t need to blitz in 2016 with Arden Key

We have no one close to Key in 2019

They’re confused at times still. Some of these zones might be too complex for them to understand.

I can guarantee you though that Alabama will pick on kary vincent if they go man to man

Chaisson needs another year. His technique is meh at best. Physical freak, all the tools, but he’s got to learn how to shed blocks even if they are holding

I wouldn’t say that.

I would suggest it confirms Aranda hasn’t changed his approach. Which I think was the intent of the OP.

Which means the only other variables are the players and competition.
