Mid tier, we are same as Ole Miss / Auburn type SEC team more than Bama/Georgia.

Solid program. Good, nowhere near great, team.

The program is in good shape overall. Unfortunately being merely good/decent isn’t our expectation here.

Every person who has brain cells which are actually firing in a consistent manner can see that we need to replace Nuss. Honestly it should have already happened. So the state of the program is reflective of how the program leadership ignores this glaring fact. What do you have to lose by at least trying?

The program fricking sucks right now.

There aren’t “types” or “tiers” like there used to be, not this year or last year at least. It seems like parity is here to stay, but who knows.

I don’t think there’s a “state of the program” like there used to be. You can turn around a roster so quickly these days, the powerhouse schools don’t have a monopoly on talent anymore. You can’t just label us as a “mid-tier school” because look how quickly we improved the worst defense of all time, we could easily have MVB become a star or use the money Nussmeier frees up to get a stud at QB.

There are no god-tier dynasties. Everyone is beatable. UGA could win out this year, or they could lose to Mississippi State, Auburn, Texas and Georgia Tech and I wouldn’t be surprised in either case. If Ole Miss were to blow out Georgia it wouldn’t be nearly as shocking as it would’ve been 5 years ago.

Whoever down voted the OP is lame. You don't have a sense of humor.

OP meme is perfection.

This situation with Nuss reminds me of two previous coach/QB failures.

1. Haslett stuck on Aaron Brooks is by far the top of the list. The backup went on to lead another team to a SB. This was so bad that Haslett never got a sniff at another HC job.

2. Mack Brown and Chris Sims. Applewhite was a better QB but Brown made a deal and stuck with it to the detriment of the team.

BK has mostly done what he was brought in to do, stabilize the program at a critical point….but to get to that next level he’s going to have to change his blueprint of winning football games.

He screamed from the rooftops all summer this was the year to judge him on…well early returns aren’t looking good there.

Doesn’t really matter though, he either changes and we get better or we wait it out in purgatory for a few more years until that buyout is feasible.
