I mean this year quite literally proved you don’t have to win Sundays. Just take 2/3 to get a top 8 seed and get going at the right time. All those extra regular season wins don’t mean anything

I agree that Hurd & Holman seem to be 1-2 or 2-1…

Most likely

Lots of options for Sunday/Weekday:
Loer

You could throw in Ackenhausen, Jake Brown, & Coleman as well. Maybe even Noot for later in the year.

Ack and Coleman will probably get a look as well along with the two lefty freshmen.

There is an abundance of options for starting pitcher next season. Something we haven’t been able to say for a few years now.

Yeah , staying healthy is the key. Seems like we always lose 2-3 preseason

Loer Pitcher from Xavier has a chance to start most definitely

Yet couldn’t crack the starting rotation at Xavier? They must be loaded.

He will have a whole shitload of competition as LSU, but he will be in the mix as a starter. Just because he didn't start last year doesn't mean anything. Do you expect Ack and Herring to have no chance to start because they didn't crack the rotation at LSU (a rotation that was missing a starter all year long)?

Small school short-reliever to SEC weekend starter…I’m sure the there’s plenty of examples you could give me that would make me change my mind. Dude ain’t starting here.

I think Loer has the potential to fill Cooper's role as a high leverage relief and spot starter.

The guy I hope gets right is Little. Don't see his path to being a weekend starter but the staff definitely needs a RHP who can pitch in clutch relief situations.

I don't think Skenes started right away at AF.

Just hope we can stay a little cleaner this year on the injury front and we should be fine.

If Ack can repeat his performance from the CWS he fits in this somehow!

Sure. But that performance repeated consistently from him is probably not very likely. That was probably the outlier performance you get from him, not the norm.

I'm certain he will be one of many who will get a fair look. If he shows he can repeat that, he's a starter. If he doesn't, he is a great piece out of the pen.

Fri: Hurd
Sat: Holman
Sun: Ack
Midweek: Freshmen and unproven guys

Coleman long relief lefty, Little long relief righty

Johnson gets lots of low leverage innings while he develops

Herring slots into the Riley Cooper role
Woods 7th and 8th inning matchup righty
Loer and Guidry at end of games

That’s 10 guys and there’s still so many more that have talented. The depth of this staff should ensure that a high end producer is always on the mound
