I would Guess Coleman.

hasn’t pitched in the CWS yet.

Coleman, Colins, Guidry, Herring are probably who we’re looking at today.

gotta hope Coleman can go a bit longer than he has in the past

If the wind I really blowing in at 15mph go with money his weakness is the Longball that won't happen in that park w/ that wind. He can give you 4 to 5 innings 2x through the order then sit him down.

Problem with Little is he tries to nibble too much.

LSU needs to pound the strike zone and make Wake out hit them if the wind is still blowing in.

More importantly, who is pitching for Wake. We need hits.

As others have said, it will likely be a mix of Keener/Sullivan. Here's a chart of the pitching usage of each team left:

I think Jay’s gonna go with Herring. He showed that he’s got that dog in him in several outings earlier in the season before faltering a bit. He was stud high school pitcher in Texas last year. Who cares, everybody was a stud in their respective high schools, right? I’m pretty sure this dude was different and think he pitched in some really big games and dominated. Not Omaha against the #1 team big, obviously, but probably bigger than any of the other options we have. And I’m sure he threw 100+ pitches on multiple occasions, so he could get in groove and do something like Ack last night even though he hasn’t been stretched out this year.

I’m not sure Jay and Wes trust a freshman in this situation, but I think he’s got the right mental makeup and is the most likely guy to come up big and give us an Ack like performance to save the pen. May not be the “safest” choice and it could backfire, but I think he’s the most capable of doing something special and we’re at the point where we have to roll the dice and gamble on the highest reward rather than trying to simply mitigate risk.

And he’s too emotional, so when things start going south, he’s prone to imploding. But like I said, we’re at the point where we need to take big risks to win 4 more games. And Little has the stuff to where if he can channel his emotions, he could go crazy and do something special. Or he could shite the bed and not get out of the 1st.

Carl, I agree on Herring. Your analysis is spot on, as usual.

I don’t mind the downvote, but perhaps refute my post with what you disagree with?

I may be wrong in predicting Jay will start Herring. I really just meant I think I would.

It's not the size that matters

Not sure if you’re trolling, but I’ll take it.

I really do think he has it in him to flip a switch and pull off a 6 or 7 inning shut down outing. He’s pitched in bigger games more recently than any other option. It wasn’t against D1 hitters, but the stakes are higher for a high school championship to a high school pitcher than a regular season SEC game to anybody else.
