Honestly, could care less on opponent. Just give us a damn home game.. that’s all I’m asking for.

the neutral site games are cash grabs, they get a nice pay out and can maintain a full home schedule
I knew they were cash grabs, but I'm having a hard time figuring out why they're so much better than playing home-and-home series.
I know neutral site non-conference games are separate from the conference TV contracts, which is why networks pay big bucks for them. LSU reportedly got a $5 million payout to play in Vegas.
I don't know what the overall stadium-wide average face value of tickets would be, but even at $100 a pop x 100k seats, that's $10 million. Plus all the revenue from parking passes and concessions. So its doesn't seem like a stretch that LSU could bring in $15 million in revenue on gameday for a premier opponent like USC for a season opener. Subtract out a few million for expenses and factor in that if USC came to Baton Rouge, LSU would be making a return trip to Los Angeles.....it still seems like we'd come out ahead financially by doing a home-and-home instead of neutral sites.
Someone with insider knowledge of the athletic department finances correct me if I'm wrong

Here's the thing. If you constantly lose season openers to good teams, while 80% of the top 30 are playing cupcakes, it's retarded to keep scheduling good teams for season openers.
You keep doing the same things expecting different results. Makes no sense.

There was a time when we all looked forward to the early games (Washington, Oregon, UNC, TCU, Wisconsin). The annual arse-kicking of a D1 caliber school on natl tv.
We almost lost to UNC (TE dropped TD pass at end of game) and got humiliated against Wisconsin in Lambeau

USC had equal time (or lack thereof) to iron their team's kinks out too. If we play them in week 2, then both teams have the benefit of playing a cupcake in week 1 to work out some issues.
And that's why I said Brian Kelly is arguably the worst head coach to get a team prepared for the season, so you're actually contributing to my point.
He lost to Lincoln Riley for God's sake.
He lost to Frank Norvell TWICE, you know the guy who is 0-2 against mediocre opponents this year.
Give up the ghost and schedule Louisiana Monroe.

Move to MN where you can get a tampon in the boys restroom.

So what you're saying is...we won

Was at the game...not sure how you characterize a 2pt game that LSU was in a position to win as getting humiliated but if that helps you make some bullshite point, have at it.
My point was, and I stand by it, LSU didn't lose a lot of OOC games. And they'd play anyone to start the year. I'm not sure that having a has-been coach lose 'em means we should somehow start scheduling FCS every year.

No, we used to and should be able to beat ranked opponents. It's what I I can't stand about Men's Basketball (the cupcake schedule).

home and home you're going to lose a home game on your schedule.
Through these, LSU gets a nice payout with little overhead vs. hosting a game and you can keep a full home non conference slate of of shite games charging the same amount for tickets and parking passes.

Either way you're going to get 3 non-conference home games a year vs G5 and FCS opponents. With all the neutral site games, you'll never get exciting non-conference home games. At least with home-and-homes, you should have a pretty good non-conference home game every other year

Just flip the damn games. Play Nichols game 1 and USC game 2.
