Whoever called 4 straight pass plays in OT with Jennings at QB must have been intoxicated.
If the first pass had been caught (and it should have been caught), it's at least a 5 yard gain or more. That drop changed the entire possession.

Is Harris really that bad in practice that we still stick with AJ? He must suck donkey nads to get passed over by Les and Cam in favor of AJ. I am no expert but I have seen no improvement from AJ since.day one. My only thought turns to Harris.being garbage in practice. I would.like.to.see.him start, but I assume our coach's know.what's up.

Harris's next start will be the season after Jennings leaves.

No it won't. He will transfer and be the starter somewhere else, probably another SEC school. He is not going to sit behind a QB that he is better than.

Since we are now officially out of the major bowl picture, I think we should start rotating the quarterbacks and start passing the ball 60-70% of the time. We may take our lumps in the remaining games, but we may just start developing a passing game that will carry into the Spring and maybe, if we're lucky, we will be refining a passing game in Spring training next year with the best QB.

We won't do that either. Just look at all of the non conf. patsy games, we never work on our passing game in those either.

BH should get some pt for experience, unfortunately backup's don't get that opportunity as needed.

Start no, Play YES

I don't believe we have the answer at QB on the roster. Last game Harris started he didn't exactly light it up against Auburn.

IMO,

Would be a big mistake to play Harris and here is why:

Jennings started the season then you switched to Harris then back to Jennings.

Harris had his chance against Auburn, if you put him back out there and he fails again you risk the chance of ruining him mentally.

Also, you give both Jennings and Harris the feeling that you don't have faith in either one of them and could really retard their development.

The best thing right now is to stick with Jennings and as long as he is healthy ride him out the rest of the season then open competition up in the spring.

Just a friendly outside perspective.

Trust me, I understand the pain of a subpar QB.

I agree if harris can make the correct hand offs and calls at the line

So you agree that Jennings should be starting?

I posted this last night. I was all for Jennings staying the QB weeks ago because he knew the plays, didn't turn the ball over, and we still had a sliver of hope, to win the West.

Now that, that is completely out of the picture, there is zero reason to let the lesser talent play. It would be wise to let Harris get 1st string snaps against Arkansas, the bye week, against TAMU, and the 4 weeks of practice before the bowl game. That's 7 weeks of practice with the ones and 3 games to get into a groove.

I think this is the best time to pull the trigger. State in your press conference, today I think, that you are "opening up the competition". Good excuse to play the other guy.

This way of thinking is so damn stupid. Nobody is going to stop developing and be broken mentally because of failing in a game.

Why in the world would you do that? Clearly he is not an SEC caliber QB and next year will be horrible if he is the best qb in the team.

True freshman, on the road in hostile SEC game for his first start, really? You are going to judge him on that body of work?

Even if you give him back 3 dropped passes, it is not at 50% - seems that NO passing game is just a detriment to a successful offense

We can't win a national championship with JefferJennings, plain and simple. Unfortunately, winning national championships doesn't seem to be a very big concern for Miles.

I think you have a point that should be considered by our coaching staff. I bet it would too if the only info they have is what you and I have.

the problem with your idea is that the coaches are starting AJ FOR A REASON. we just don't know that reason (and probably never will).

I am convinced that right now AJ, warts and all, gives this team the best shot at winning. I am convinced of this because we have some damn good coaches and they actually know more than us.
