Defense
O needs to push Bo to get another job probably go to the nfl and be a lb coach.

We need to do Co defensive cd. Promote Raymond and go after Cincinnati DC, Uab DC, Bc DC, or Mason Vanderbilt head coach.

Get rid of our safety coach and defensive line coach. I would promote Lacoutre to dline coach.

Offense
Let Linehan walk or find a new job, go and get Munoz and tell Calloway he will be Pgc in waiting when E retires and Munoz moves to Oc

Get rid of the oline coach and wr coach bring in a la guy for the wr job

Lsu will still have a open spot, I would go after a recruiter, Miami te coach is there primary recruiter and knows sofl.

Ah yes. Let's get rid of the oline coach whose unit won the award for best in the nation. Seriously, you are an idiot

Sure

Why would any of those guys accept a Co-DC job? Raymond might but the others you mentioned have experience calling defenses successfully all on their own.

He is an asset as a west coast recruiter. I don't think you get rid of him,

Maybe but Lac doesn't have any development experience so I'd be weary of hiring him. LSU shouldn't be the place for coaches to cut their teeth unless they have pedigree like Brady and Faulk.

Sure.

I'm down to get Munoz but I doubt Calloway sticks around to be the PGC in waiting. its either promote Calloway and hes the OC in waiting or go get Munoz and hes the OC in waiting. I think its an either or situation.

The guy did a fantastic job last year and has been recruiting fairly well which could jump up to extremely well if he can land Leigh.

I'm not opposed to getting rid of Mickey cuz he can't coach shite but he is an LA guy and a good recruiter so he fits the bill for what you want. I'd say make him the TE coach and bring in an actual WR coach.

Also, have you seen Baylor's offense under Munoz? They are horrible.

I say make him the ASSISTANT Special Teams coach and keep him away from anybody that catches a football and blocks.

Frick all that "He is an LA guy" BS.

He can't coach at this level. In over his head. Dead weight.

Yall think Saban has anybody on his Staff that can't effectively coach their position?

This team is basically the 3rd and 4th string from last year. We lost 20+ players (key position players) last year and on top of that we lost our dc who recruited players for his style of defense and replaced him with a dc who plays a different style of defense. We lost perhaps the best passing coordinator we ever had and replaced him as well. Due to this Covid 19 bullshite we didn’t get to practice with these new players so these kids are lost . They didn’t play last year so they don’t have a clue what’s going on. These kids are very talented and were highly recruited by multiple big teams. They will be much better by next year and we will be back to playing LSU football again. I don’t give a shite what team it is if you would go to that team and take 20+ players and their DC and OC they would be just like us.

Don't get the love for hiring Munoz as OC on this board; he was absolutely horrendous in his only season as an OC at ULaLa and was quickly demoted by Hud after the season back to WR coach. Once that staff was terminated, the only job Munoz could land was as an analyst. What in that impressive resume says he is an ideal candidate for LSU OC? Hint: nothing.

The rest of this post is laughable. NFL LB coaches don't make anywhere close to what Pelini is making and neither do college LB coaches. There are 2.3 million reasons why this will not happen; the only way he goes is by termination and LSU would be on the hook for the remainder of his contract.

quote:

Let Linehan walk or find a new job

He is still under contract for next season and I believe the one after that. LSU would be on the hook for the remainder of the contract if he is fired. Unless he wants to return to the NFL, he is not walking away from $800k per year.

Congratulations on your nomination for the dumbest post of the year. The result of your idea is a cost to LSU of about $15 million in contract buyouts plus the cost of new salaries.

Again few of our issues are scheme or play calling problems.

Honest question, is LSU on the hook for the salaries if O “helps them find new jobs”?

Without reading the actual applicable contracts, this is an impossible question to answer.

However, it is pretty standard to have an offset clause in a head coach's contract that reduces amounts owed by the amount of the salary of the new position.

Additionally, said contracts usually spell out a time period over which payments will be made and frequency of payments.

Do you think anyone is willing to pay Pelini 2.3 mil per year to take him off our hands? Or Linehan 800k? etc.
