A lot of the stuff you like is the exact stupid stuff that has killed the organic groundswell at games. The band and fans literally have a cadence for nearly every situation and down. When we play the piped in stuff at the wrong times, it kills the traditional rhythm. I fear we may have already lost that battle. Although, it was a little better this week.

Just another example of the ineptitude of the media team.
They're ALL friends/relatives of Joe Alleva or somebody else in the AD or friends/relatives of a current/ex LSU football player or LSU athlete.

It's all one big good ole boy family of incompetents of the highest level. They were hired because of WHO they know, not because of their qualifications. That's why it's so bad. That's a fact, not opinion........

Oh that's it for many on here. We know the evil ones of which you mention. Don't give them any attention. They crave it.

The Golden Band probably needs time to adjust because they're so used to being over ruled by the Dj in the booth they need to get back into we run the show mode.
GBFTL Alum that agrees. Don't need less PIM. NO PIM at all is the only solution. DGAF what other SEC stadiums are doing.............

Based on? I don't agree it has actually changed one bit. What has changed frOm say 2007? What changed from Auburn this year? The stadium rocked for that game and the DJ was almost non existent.

The gameday experience

Don't lose to Troy and be tied with maybe the worst team in the SEC at halftime and my game day experience would be much, much better.

I bet if we were 9-1 now not many would give a shite about the songs being played.

This is the definition of working for any "public" entity in the State of Louisiana beyond entry-level.

You are so edgy and progressive.

Its funny that 70+% of people on this thread agree (via up/downs) and the majority of the comments agree in some way, shape or form.

You sir, are in the minority. But there is nothing wrong with that, you don't have to agree with me on anything. Just continue being a homer who lives in the "glory days", refusing to change with the times.

Im sure you consider guys like me "less of a tiger fan" because I am critical and would like my alma mater held accountable where they fall short.

Keep on keeping on.

Actually on the much longer piped in music thread a while back the overwhelming response was negative.

You also totally fail to address what has changed from 2007 or much less a couple of weeks ago with the Auburn game.

Why? Because you can't.

what has changed from 2007

-Way more on-the-field introductions is killing momentum on breaks
-Video montages are too long and boring as compared to the quick and punchy videos from years past (4th Q comebacks, "here comes the boom" big hits, Hawthorne calls on big plays).
-Way shittier piped in music (some of the songs they play now were actually popular in 2007 - or at the least more relevant in 2007).
-The actual PRODUCTION of the game from a media standpoint: when they choose/not choose to pipe in music/videos, what music/videos they choose to play, why they choose to play it is what has taken an absolute downturn in recent years.
- I love the band - LOVE THE BAND - But when and how long they play could be better (or more timely). The oweo song after scores is too long and not as impactful as it could be for getting the crowd going and sustaining momentum. Again, love the band - they are a HUGE part of the gameday experience and always should be.

And I have the same issues with the gameday production during the AU game as any other game - difference being what was happening on the field yielded way more crowd noise and intensity organically. Not every game is going to be a blockbuster thriller beating ranked teams with the crown going wild. When thats not happening, the production of the game (from a media/band standpoint) can and does have an affect on the team and crowds intesnsity.

You're all over the place. I agree too many introductions.

But you say you love the Band but you want new and more updated piped in music. In other words you want rap just more up to date rap.

Not every game is going to be a blockbuster thriller beating ranked teams with the crown going wild. When thats not happening, the production of the game (from a media/band standpoint)

In other words If it's not a big game you want the atmosphere to go to hell and let the PA system take over to try to pump up a dull game. Exactly the problem with the DJ option. The solution is to a non existent problem. Dull games are a scheduling issue, not a DJ solvable one.

If you love the band let it play. Toss in a PA song every now and again and all will be well.

Just like we used to do in 2007.

Because it's terrible, and even worse on tv?

quote:

The songs they do play when they try and get the crowd involved are terrible and totally outdated.

This should be the band's job.

quote:

Someone needs to take a long, hard look at the team who is responsible for A/V in the stadium and overhaul the game-day experience in death valley.

Tiger Stadium itself rejected the 11am kickoff and sabotaged the already shitty a/v team.

The band needs to get their swagger back and rock that stadium. Deaf Valley is not Bryant-Denny or an NFL venue… it's far better, and should go back to the gameday experience that made even Bear Bryant hate it.

quote:

With the venue, crowd and most importantly MONEY that goes into the LSU football program, attending a game in Tiger Stadium should be a seamless production that leaves lasting memories regardless of the games outcome

Deaf Valley is a special place, and the race to be more like a lifeless NFL stadium like Bama is fricking it up.

How about you be responsible for your stadium experience. Why does LSU have to entertain you. You bought a ticket to a football game, the band plays after every down. The man with the red hat is a big part of the quiet or down time with the game, you know, a TV time out.

Back to you being responsible. How about you show up and cheer for the team and enjoy the very short football season we have. Someone else does not have to entertain you 24/7

Clearly, you are a homer who can't be pleased. I beg you, aside from "just do what we did in 2007" which you have repeated several times now, What are your suggestions?

This is literally exactly what I am saying they do. Play better PA stuff at the right times to keep momentum going.

Just like we used to do in 2007.

So because we won a national championship in 2007, your logic says if we do they exact same thing, we will win another national championship...right?
